hot deal (or lack thereof) dilema

Ahhh. I really really want and could use speakers. I want to get some Altec Lansing ATP3's. However, I'd prefe to get a hot deal for them. So they cost like $45 shipped instead of $55. Unfortunately, I can't find such a deal. I really want the speakers. But I don't want to pay more than $50 for them. What should I do? Do hot deals for this come out somewhat often?

What's the difference between the 3?
I mean the ATP3, the ATP3LA, and ATP3W?
