It says that it's reconditioned, but in previous experience, this means that it was just sent back by someone, they repackaged it, and are re-selling it. They're not USED models. It also comes with everything you'd get if you purchased it off the TV from that dude with spray paint on his head (I love that guy!)

Anyway, it's on sale for $79.99 (it was $99.99 just a few weeks ago), and there is a $10 off $25 kitchen coupon. Use the coupon and the price is down to $69.99, which is definitely a bargain for this.

List Price: $319.00
Our Price: $79.99
You Save: $239.01 (75%)
Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours.

Features:

Reconditioned by the manufacturer to "like new" condition
Pause setting permits meats to be browned on spit
Tray fits atop rotisserie for steaming foods
Included: 6 kabob rods, flavor-injecting syringe, heavy gloves, 12 elastic ties
Also included: $100 in coupons for Ronco products, instructional video, six-month factory warranty

It's a heavy sucker at over 25lb, so I'm not sure what kind of shipping you'll have to pay (we already own one).

Isn't this a rather old deal. I remember this from December. You know what else I remember...

The 10 or 20 other threads about it. J/k man, this device is excellent for you home cooks out there.

Hgabriel,

This is the first time that it's been as cheap as $79.99, it never dropped this low before.

Does the accessory kit seem like it's worth $40?
I looked at it and decided to pass.
The only item worth anything in the kit is the basket.
The rest is like $4 worth of junk.

I did buy other items to get to $110 though.
Free shipping saved me $37.89 on my total order.
Plus the $10 off coupon.

Bought the Joyce Chen Steel Carbon Wok and an ice bucket to get there.

BTW, thanks for the deal bbs.

I bought the larger model from Amazon for $150 early last Xmas season while the coupon mania was around. Lasted 30 days! Amazon paid for shipping both ways and we got another. Great service.

We do a lot of cooking around my house, so we wanted the big one, but for most families this is an incredible deal!

The $40 kit comes with a knife, extra ties for tieing meat to the rotissery, the large basket and the steamer kit that lets you steam veggies and such on top of the unit. We got the kit for $20 as it was on special when we bought.

Get it! You won't be sorry!

Dayg - Its not hard to clean at all. Most of the stuff drips onto a pan that sits in the bottom of the unit. Just throw that and the rotisserie bar into the dishwasher or let it soak in hot water & detergents...comes right off. Use windex on the glass door and you're done.

The ronco is pretty good. Easy to clean. One big drawback is it takes a lot of electricity. It'll eave u a hole in our pocket. They advertised that it uses 1/4 of the power of the hair dryer. But most people use the dryer for like 15min - 30 minute. Everytime you start the Showtime, u have to leave it running for an hour or so, I check my electric meter, and the thing spin so fast like 7000rpm.

The everyday Amazon price for this is $99, with FREE SHIPPING, so the title is very misleading. I was expecting to see it for $25, since it said 75% off. It's worth $25. Shipping is $28.00, so it actually will cost $98 delivered after $10 coupon. Deal droped from Hot, to warm, to cold, to Ice. Now $25 delivered would be a fair price, and a warm deal on this. It is no longer 75% off, but in reality only 2% off everyday price.

We buy a lot of these type of things, (Foodsaver II by Tila is awesome), and just bought this with the MCI Amazon GC for $99, free shipping. After reading all the reviews, it looked like a great device! Then the UPS man delivered it. He knew what it was by the size of the box, and says he delivers many of them a week. UPS guy is also very accurate when he rates stuff, as many things get returned. He rated this poorly, and repeated every bad thing the review sites said. Smoke, Fire, etc. Still we thought he could be wrong. He was not wrong, except no fires if you do it correctly.

First thing, this thing is HUGE. They say about the size of a small microwave, but it's much bigger than the biggest microwaves. You must keep it at least 8 inches away, on all sides, when cooking, so forget about putting it on your counter below a cabinet. It WILL slowly fill your entire house with light smoke. Best thing to do is put it outside or near an open door when cooking.

Cooking. Make sure you have lot's of salt, pepper, and other seasonings AFTER it's cooked.
First thing you'll notice here is about a dozen warnings NOT to set it and forget it. They say you must constantly monitor it while it's cooking. Kinda funny, since that was a key selling line. Chicken was the first thing we tried. Went to 2 stores, and cheapest we could find a whole chicken for was around $5.00. In each we saw signs that said "Buy our tender and juicy Rotiserie Chicken, ready to eat for $3.99 each". O.K. so it would cost us more to do it ourself, but it would be better (we thought). Followed instructions, and it was correct internal temperature at the exact time. I see what they mean by "mouth watering good", but it wasn't what I expected. I expected that to mean, your mouth watered just from the thought of all the flavors that this would give you. Wrong. There idea of mouth watering good is just that. Tastes in your mouth like a glass of water. ZERO flavor, but lot's of juicy water tasting like liquid. Grade F. Next the Standing Rib Roast they show. The cheapest one of those we could find was $25.00 on sale. Again, timer was correct and it was cooked. Meat came out no different than any other type of meat, not more tender, and was also flavorless. Grade D. Cooked some chicked parts in the basket. Same as BBQ. grade C. Cooked cheap $1.19lb Pork Roast, and it game out very good, but same thing could have been done in the oven.

Only thing that fits in a large dishwasher is the spicket and basket. Removable door, bottom pan, and bottom pan cover are too large, but they clean up fairly easy.

As one of the Amazon review says, "If you want Rotiserie Chicken, go to Boston Market", or even your local supermarket. An outdoor BBQ grill with a $20 rotiserie or what you currently own is better than this. UPS guy was right again.

RobsTv,
Very well said. I agree with you 100%. Favor injection don't work, don't even get any taste out of it. The only part that is true about this thing, is the oil really drips and thats it <guess it drips away the taste too>.

Robstv, you must marinate your roasts before cooking otherwise everything tastes like water.

RobsTv,

When you prepare chicken or any other meats, do you just thaw them out and throw them on the bbq? No, you marinate them and put spices on them, then you put them on the bbq or elsewhere. The oven itself won't ADD any flavour to the foods, you have to get the flavour into the food first, all they're saying is the flavour stays *IN* the food. The flavour injector may be a crock, but the point is, marinate before you cook.

Everyone that I've spoken to LOVES their rotisserie, this is the first negative comment that I've seen, but it was very amusing. Thanks.

I have to disagree with you on a couple of points RobsTV. It's not "much bigger than the biggest microwave". It's not small either but what do you expect when they say you can cook a 15 lb. turkey in it?

What you want to do when you roast a whole chicken is to brine it first. Throw 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of salt into a pot with 2 qts of water and put the chicken in it for an hour, then dry it off and stick it in the rotisserie. I guarantee you it won't taste like water. Also, if you buy the chicken when it's on sale (~59-79 cents/lb), it probably will cost less than the pre-cooked dead birds you find in the supermarket.

I agree the syringe thingie is a piece of crap and don't even think about making BBQ ribs in it (it's a real pain to set it up...the grill is way better for that). Other than that, I think it's a really good value for $69 at Amazon.

Does anyone know where to find the Ronco pasta machine for a good price? I've been looking around and the cheapest price I can find is around $30-40.
