Sam's Club has these printers for $39.88 and include the USB cable needed to hook it up to the computer. I believe those alone run near $10.00 and for a cheap printer it works fantastic. Heck considering the price of cartridges it may be cheaper to pick up a couple and dispose of the units when the ink runs out! ;)

One side note, it works only with Windows.

That is a nice deal. However, do you know if this is a one cartridge at a time printer or do you have both black and color in together?

Also, Any idea if the cartridges from this work with any other models?

Not sure if this link will work, but, here are the specs for this Printer.

Yes the cartridges are seperate. I went downstairs and checked just a second ago. Hope this helps!

Well, Looks like my link above timed out... removing the session ID didn't help.

I'm not sure I understand your comment about them being separate-- do you mean that only one can go in the printer at a time? = a Black&White OR Color printer.

Or do you mean that they are both installed but separated (which is what I would call a combined Black&White / Color printer. I couldn't tell from the epson page.

Thanks!

BTW, the ink consumption on this printer is VERY high. Your idea about purchasing multiple units just for the ink sounds like a good idea.

The Epson 480 ($59 Retail) & the 580 ($69) both use at LEAST twice as much ink as the next higher models in both B&W and Color printing. In fact, some modes use as much as 4x the ink. So, unless the ink cartridges for this are 1/2 the price or less you are in trouble down the road.

For $99 Retail you can get the 700 series which uses 1/2 as much ink per page. And the 800 series ($149) uses 1/2 as much again. Not to mention you get 4x the resolution for printing out your photos (800 Series).

The black and color cartridges are seperate and they are both in the printer at the saem time. Probably a good call on the ink consumption as I've noticed that it does use a good bit of ink, but as a second printer I don't think it can be beat. Heck, I'm actually still using my old HP 672C. Not only am I a Sam's Club memeber, I'm not the president. ;)
