heh saw this thingy at [H]ard|OCP. Of course it's an error. But I've dealt with onsale before when they had that Allied Telesyn hub/switch/print server pricing error a year ago and I did get them. So we might get these. :)

But from my dealings with Egghead, they are a bitch.

Just remember everyone... Take a pic of the item page and save your order page! You might need it as "proof" if something comes down the road. Not that I'm implying anything. :p

Lowest price on this RAM right now is $173.. so if you ordered 10, it would only cost $350 where they should actually be $1730.. haha

Oh this sucks... Found this...

Order Cancellation
Egghead.com reserves the right to cancel a bid or order or to issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for merchandise that is advertised in error, is unexpectedly out of stock, does not conform to specifications, or was shipped in error.
No backordered item will be kept open beyond 30 days without the consent of the customer.

Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is delayed beyond the represented shipping time. If the ordered product(s) do not ship within the represented time, Egghead.com will honor any request for cancellation received prior to the actual shipment of the product(s).

these are the guys that bought onsale.com.

they had a mispriced package of 20 17gb hard drives a while back, the whole 20 pack for like 180 dollars. they cancelled most of the orders, but some of them had been shipped (i.e. NEXT DAY AIR. (yeah, it costs 150 bucks, but if you're gonna be a sleaze and buy a yitload to sell anyways....) they might call you up and say 'return this', but i don't think they have legal grounds to. *shrugs* )

I ended up with a free 17 gb maxtor off that deal, others got entire 20packs (because
they chose next day shipping.)

g'luck to ya.

Ok...everyone calm down a bit. Odds are that we won't ever see this memory...hey I like to gamble, so I am with ya, but egghead's past history has been to catch these "errors" and give the customer a big fat nothing.

As for the email stating that your card has been charged--I recieved the same email and called AMEX (who are pretty fast in posting these things) and they have not been charged or authorized as of a few minutes after I got the email.

HOPEFULLY they will charge our card, since that is a free ticket to memory!!

Good Luck, (hey the bond set worked out nicely!):)

no, a charge to your card means that they can either credit your card back or give you the product. its not a free ticket to memory.

Ahhh... Cancellation or not, this is what makes this place so fun... Staying up late trying to get that impossible deal, running to the PC first thing in the morning HOPING for that comfirmation e-mail, finding a cancellation e-mail instead, getting mad and posting "Hate" messages about the company, letting it blow over, then finding another impossible deal and starting all over. Let us all remember BestBuy.com honoring the James Bond #3 DVD Gift Set for $39.99. There is ALWAYS hope! :) :) :)

However....(may sh|t my pants...ok not really)...

:):):):) Look at what I found under my order listing on the site:

Sep 25, 2000, 1:04 am PDT Order placed.
Sep 25, 2000, 1:05 am PDT American Express ending in 10?? charged $??.??.
Sep 25, 2000, 1:06 am PDT Order pending transmission to our warehouse for processing and fulfillment.

The "??" are added to protect me...:)
