Hello, this is my first hot deal. While shopping for a Handspring Visor deluxe I saw the Compaq 3630 on clearance for $199.50, they were replacing it with the 3635 model which was $599. With my $40 off $200 coupon I think it was a pretty hot deal.

looks d@mn good, all staples are closed tho! bright and early.

we should just get staples to post their clearence stock on the front doors :)
I bet they have such a list, back when I worked for Tandy we had lists like that.

I bet most are long gone though.

If this is the Compaq color iPaq then it's VERY HOT!

Wicked-ass deal. The only real differences between this and the 3635 is the ROM (which can be upgraded) and the lack of a CF sleeve (which costs only 40 bucks).

But I suggest if you want Type II, or wish for both wireless and external memory simultaneously, go with the dual slot sleeve.

oh no. me and rally are after the same deal again. this is pretty killer if its for real. hopefully someone gets a reciept up. did you have to ask for this because i havent seen the ipaq on display.

im pretty cynical on whether or not anyone else will score this because its really hot. Thats how much i paid for my ipaq (broken demo) a few months ago. But with a reciept then just maybe...

Ok, I have the receipt but no scanner. The sku is 452584, I wasn't sure which number on the receipt was the sku so I went to the staples site and typed it in and it comes up as the ipaq 3635. The staples is in Jasper,In the tel# is 1-812-634-7466. pm me for any other details. Emonkey, they had a official looking staples sign where the other pdas were and it said "clearance compaq ipaq h3630 for $199.50"

That's a great deal on the 3630. I wonder if this means we can expect prices on the 3635 and 3670 to fall soon?

so the only difference between the 3630 and 3650 is in the cradle? the 3630 has a serial cradle and the 3650 has a usb cradle? If this is correct, then the 3650 would sync slower than the usb. (uhh, definitely)
Good deal.

edit: information from a friend who uses the ipaq with nt, not win2k, so used a serial cradle. sorry for any misinformation.

But the 3650 may be good for people who use NT at work and have access to only serial :)

Man, I'm going to have to take a Staples run this weekend..

cheers,

edit: Lowest price on the web is $477.. (according to pricescan..)

Prices on web from pricescan..

At my local Staples (Boston area), I had them check on the SKU.
It's still listed in the computer at $599...So it's not likely
anyone's gonna get this deal. The guy I talked to (pretty clued
in manager) said 1) No way they would pricematch that price
for an out of area store, even a Staples, even with a receipt
(even if they had the 3630, which they didn't); 2) If they were
truly reduced to that price, he'd be "shocked" if they
didn't get bought by the employees first anyway.

both have usb cradles. The difference is only in the number, but the hardware is exactly the same. 3650 was meant for internet sales while 3630 is for b&m. probably the stupidest thing they couldve done because its caused so much confusion.

This is definately not accurate, as the 3630 is only sold online (which is the only difference between it and the 3650).
