I saw this. Looks pretty good. Going to get one for my daughter. My Sears also had yellow Sony Walkman Cd players for $17.00. Got a couple of them.

If you have a notebook, you can just buy a y splitter which splits a minijack into the RCA output and get pretty nice mp3 playback. Plus you can hook up all your game consoles to this unit too. It would fit my Sony WEGA 20" TV from returnbuy perfectly. I was thinking on buying the AIWA NSX-HMT76, which costs $80 more for 90 watts more output from returnbuy.

Oh, while you are thinking about improving your audio life, try out xmplay, which is free for download from http://www.un4seen.com/music/. It plays mp3s a lot better than WinAmp and Windows Media Player imo.

correct me if I am wrong

twin Cassette = dinosaurs, heck u still use those ?

no mp3 play back = outdate .. heck 3 CD changer

getting a outdated dinosaurs for $99 = make your own judgement unless u use the stero for auxilary out, i.e. dvd, tv or game console...

This thing has been phased out in asia countries for quite a white, Stero in Asia is small and a lot of them equip with MD player...

don't know why u guys got excited about it...

I am going to Zzzz....

Not only you are wrong, you are a thread crapper as well! But let's do one at a time, shell we?

Well, some of us dinosaurs, you know like people over 21, have quite a collection of cassette tapes, and we do like to listen some of that 80's and 90's music, you know - oldies!
no mp3 play back = outdate
I was not aware that every single audio device these days plays MP3's; I guess Bose really stiffed me out of $1,000.00 last year. Oh well, the price you pay for using yesterday's technology. Hey, look on the bright side, I may get to burn an extra calorie or two while walking over to the stereo to change a CD. At my old age (30 is not a joke you know) it may actually be beneficial.

It is so nice to read a young person being so concerened about financial well being of us older folk, with Medicade and Social Security being in a predicament we do have to choose between such an expensive entertainment gizmo or few cans of Ensure.

I agree, we should start doing everything like in Asia; if our hookers would bring their prices in line with hookers , say in Bangkok, we may have some money left over to burn on something as useless as MiniDisk.

But then again, what do I know :p

To get the full effect of 5.1 do I need a DTS dvd player or one with optical or both???

Anyone have this yet ??? I was wondering how many input the thing has...... I had a mini sony system that had only one input..... and was next to useless for my PS2, VCR, and Tivo (yeah I know I am a cheap ass and need to get a component setup).

There is no such thing as a thread crapper in the HD forum

I purchased the extra year warranty from Sears.

Heck, it was only $15 and if anything happens to this unit they'll send me a replacement.

I picked one up at Sears this morning. I'm pumping it right now. It has 5.1 sound, with an extra jack to add a powered sub later on. It also has a digital optical input to add a DVD player. The CD changer seems a bit clunky, but for the price you can't go wrong with the system. Pick up the 2 year warantee for an extra $15.

For those who are interested, these units are going FAST. I would recommend getting over to Sears pronto.
