If you are in the market for a fridge, looks like sears is clearing out last years models. I saved about 30% on a kenmore side by side fridge. I have no idea if this is happening across the chain, but it is worth looking into. I saved hundreds today :)

I was hoping this thread would be about tires. Imagine my disappointment.

With the usual glossy Sears Sunday ad I got a plain piece of paper, with a low quality Xerox look to it. It said that the local (DC area) Sears was clearencing a lot of major appliences. Big discounts. If I was in the market for a major applience I would definitely check it out.

Seems Sears in my city is always having the same appliances on sale every other week. You'd have to be desperate to pay full price as it's most certain they will mark it down within a couple weeks.
For example, bought a dryer for $400? [CDN$] and "regular" price was $550 [CDN$]
I do have to say, Sears makes the best stuff.
Kenmore/Mastercraft last forever

Just bought a washer/dryer combo, got free intrest till Jan 2002, 10% off for using Sears card, & free delivery.

Only problem was the whole day it took to plumb the gas line for the dryer, had an electric initially.

A quick FYI, Sears doesn't make it's own tools/appliances, it has them made for them with slightly different specs than the original, when you buy from Sears, you could be getting Maytag, Frigidaire, etc, all rebranded & slightly modified to Sears specs. Same goes for their tools, could be made by Makita, etc...
