just heard this on TV, KRON 4 news. $18 for monthly pass is pure crazy. that's price for 2 movies regular. the news claims that you should be able to see 1 movie/day with the pass. maybe AMC is rolling out a new program...

Sounds like a good deal...but you can probably get like 10 different movies max...unless you want to go daily and watch some of the same movies several times.

minimum six months signing= 6 x 18 = 108 bucks on movies.

that means you have to watch atleast 12 movies to get your money's worth.

its not crazy at all, its just like season passes to amusement parks that cost less than the cost of 2 tickets...the fact is a lot of people who buy the pass wouldnt even use it that much, theyll just buy it because it SOUNDS like a good deal, and the overall revenue to the theater is higher...and the people who use it a lot will get a great deal!

Dont forget, once you get it you are also likely gonna buy popcorn, candy, soda, etc.....

I bet it wont be valid at all Bay Area AMC theaters, probably just one or two, or on new releases (usually the first 2 weeks of any run)..if it is valid on new films, i might pick one up....

Can you really watch 30 movies a month ? I mean are there even that many movies released every month ? Considering that there around only 3 or 4 new movies released every week, you're looking at about 15 movies a month at the most. It's still a pretty good deal though. Get two passes and you and your partner are set. I take it that it's not transferable.

I'm not so sure the title of this thread is right. It should be titled something like $108 for 6 month pass for SF AMCs.....

I'm in and out of SF for a few months here and there, so that wouldn't really work out...

Huh? Who the hell buys that crap. I mean I see people up there standing in line, but I never thought anyone actually bought that stuff. Just sneak in a couple beers and some Andy cap hot fries and your set.

Amen, baby. My son knows we're going to the movies when I get out my backpack and throw a bag of popcorn in the microwave.

This would be pretty good, except the quality of movies these days makes it suck a$$, to shell out $9 for "Dude, Where's My Car?" or other high quality flicks.

Hope they offer this deal at Chicago area AMCs! I'd definately buy one... you'd save big, even if you see only 4-6 movies a month.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that you don't get movie watcher points for the movies you see with this pass.

is a picture id pass? No reason not to buy a couple and let friend etc use them when you're not, if there is no picture.

ok one reason would be it's non-transferable, but I dont think you'd get jail time :)

most of the AMC's in southern california that I have been to let you bring in food. I normally walk in the theatre with a soda in my hand that I purchased outside the place. No need to hide it.

possibly an ok deal for those that have to pay full adult price. but with sudent discount movies aren't so bad. That and the fact that rarely do more then 2 good movies come out a month:p not to mention i don't like amc.. well atleast the ones here aren't thx on every screen like century. Everytime i go to amc mercado its muddy sound, bad projection, and stinky sticky enviroment. wish century had it:(
