The paper today shows a D-Link DFE-530TX+ NIC for $19.99 - $5 instant rebate - $10 MIR. CompUSA did a price match for me for $4.95 right away, so no waiting for the rebate. Seems to be working fine in my machine. I know it's not a 3com, but for less than $5, can you beat it?

Pretty good deal.

I picked two of these @ CompUSA about a week ago. They were selling it for 9.99 (19.99-10.00 IR).

Man...I love the DFE-530TX card. I have bought over half a dozen in the last year, and they're all still going strong.

Sweet... I know where I'm headed tomorrow! CC will have it at this price for the week right? Now if I can just find that ad...

wildwolf - the DFE-530TX+ and the DFE-530TX seem to use different chipsets. My non-+ ones seem to do very well in Linux.

Circuit City's website has both the price, and the rebate offer. If you print these out, that should work, shouldn't it? I'm probably going to go do that also at CompUSA.

(Still bummed at their being sold out of the Iomega/Plextor drives for $99 net yesterday AM.)

Here's the link for the NIC. click through to both the buy button and the rebate link, and print both out:

i went to compusa today and asked them about hte PM. they would only do the isntant rebate, not the retail MIR, so i guess im headed to CC tomorrow.

i wanted to buy 5 if i could get the deal at CompUSA, but i can only afford 3 now :(
