Hi...I've posted this msg a while back but no one gave a reply that solved my problem

I am running a 700 amd tbird in a abit kt7-r mobo with a global win f-32 fan.

The computer worked very well overclocked at 1 gig running around 39/40c max at 1.85 volt. Then one day i noticed the computer keep on restarting randomly and freezing with no modification to the hardware at all. So i checked the bios health status and it posted around 59-60c. I opened up the system and the heatsink was very firmly attatched with the fan running at manf. specified speed. So i underclocked my cpu to 500mzh at 1.625 volt....and the temp is still at 55c-59c....its very weird.
In the last post some suggesting getting a new fan... so yesterday i went out and got myself a brand new global win f-38 fan...very loud but i need the temp down...and installed it today. ANd still the temp is still up running underclocked at 500 1.625 volt.

The system keeps on randomly restarting even when i am in the softmenu...and it freezes even b4 window finishes loading up. Its very stange...

If u have any suggestions or idea on how to solve dis Please post a message...i would greatly appreciated... THNX!!!!!!

I would say your Athlon is going bad or your case isn't ventalated enough. Try running it with the cover off and keep the room temperature below 80 degrees F.

I dont think my case is the problem because i have a full tower antec case with 2 fans blowing in air from the front and 2 exaust from the back. Thats 4 case fans.

As for the Cpu...sometimes...when it feels like it does boot up and run for about an hour b4 it starts acting up...If it does work for an hour...i dont think there is any reason for it to be bad.

Ah....and the smoke clears and the way becomes clear. The good old thermal pad. No offense, but you DID remove the peel-off cover thing before you installed the pad, right?

Lose pad, get some Arctic Silver II. Worth every penny.

Also, a lot of people don't think of this...I'm trying to help here.

Your case; it's not stuffed inside a computer desk with a closed-back, is it? Or worse, inside a "cubby" behind a closed door? You could have 33 case fans, but if the hot air can't get out, or if the hot air keeps being recirculated, you'll get no cooling and get lots of probs.

Back then when i had the f-32 fan...overclocked at 1gig....with the old cheap thermal pad that comes with the fan...it still runs at only 39c max. So i dont think the problem would arise from the pad because they wouldnt include a pad that would crashed ur system. I do understand that silver artic does lower ur temp but it is not reasonable for an underclocked tbird to go at 60c at 500mgz at 1.625 volt.

AND yes...of course i did peel that peice off
And no its in the center of the room...very well circulated.

THnx for all ur replies BTW!! i appreciated
