Just went to the Costco at Queens Vernon Blvd.
Pack of 100 TDK CDRs 32X 80 Min for $34.99 - $20 Mail In Rebate! Limit 3 per household.
Package says "Made in Japan"
Checked with CDRIdentifier, it is Taiyo Yuden.
 
Also a quick question, I just downloaded identifier and was wondering how your suppose to know if cd's are Taiyo Yuden. I just got the same 14.99 deal as you, but the cd's are 24x.
 
Most of the 100pk TDk spindles from Costco are Made in Taiwan (CMC) if they are 24X. The 32X are mostly labled Made in Japan (TY), BUT there have been Made in Taiwan in the 32X spindles. The easiest way is to look at the lables. Hope this helps.

TDK 50 spindles in Staples are made in Taiwan.
With burnproof, I don't think disc made in Japan has any advantage than in Taiwan. And TDK at staples is $4.94 after rebate. limit 2 per individual.

Apparently not true of all Staples. Some have reported them to be TYs (Japan).

Different discs and thus different quality. The Japan manufacturered ones are Taiyo Yuden; the others are Ritek (sp?). TY is typically preceived to be of higher quality.😉
 
I picked up a spindle yesterday at the Costco in Brooklyn. These are definitely TY's because they are just like the one's that sold back at Target a while back. Made in Japan on the side. I don't think TDK even makes 100 spindles with Riteks anymore. All the 100 spindles I saw were dated within this year.

u can buy TDK CD-R 50pk 32x, 80min at Staples for 14.94-10 MIR (limit 3)

Thanks for the deal!!! by the way all the tdk's i saw at staples were taiwan...the costcos are made in japan...Also all the costcos I have been at have plenty of these...stock up boys...

wish they had some "made in japan" at the fremont, ca costco.. was just their mid-week and all the ones they had were made in mexico.. 🙁
 
Dakata24, bought mine at the Concord, CA costco. All the ones I looked at were made in Japan.
Maybe try another costco...
