I've had this case for 3 years. Its not a complete POS but its close. The On/Off switch broke a year ago. The rear card holders break just looking at them. The big fan died after 1 year. For 30 0r 40 bucks its ok. Anymore than that and its a waste.
Wow, I hate that you had a bad experience. But I have to disagree about it being a POS. The chassis itself is next to top notch, not flimsy, and has been machined well. The design and features are better than average. And the handle makes this far better than average if you are one who cherishes the ability to either carry the case around or simply get it out of its cubby-hole from the desk to make quick changes (hard drive replacement, video card upgrade, etc.)
They probably took shortcuts with some things. The LED On/Off has quit working for others as testified in many reviews (I took note of this before I bought it). Also, the expansion card bays use a mechanism that is not intuitive. I broke one of mine right at the start, then I took time to carefully examine how it was meant to be used, and now it is simple to me (and Cooler Master includes a spare clip, probably to replace the many broken ones that people inadvertently destroy due to this design).
You have definitely pointed out the two big weaknesses/flaws that other reviewers have reported. The fan going out was just bad luck, IMO, and that could happen with any case fan for a variety of reasons.
I just wouldn't want anybody to miss out on what this case has to offer based on the aforementioned grievances. It is still well worth the asking price ($65 shipped as of this posting), even without the promotion codes and rebate offers, and even with a flaky LED and known clip-issue.
