$89.99 upconverting DVD player w/ HDMI cable looks kind of hot

What good is an upconverting DVD player if standard DVDs are only 480P anyways. I don't see how it's gonna do any good considering most HDTVs up convert the signal anyways. I may be wrong, but this is something I'm kinda interested to know. Somebody school me.

standard DVDs are actually 480i, but if you let your TV upconvert your DVD signal, it goes from Digital on the Disc to analog out of the DVD player then back to Digital to upconvert. if you do the upconversion in the DVD player then it stays digital before being converted. Some TV's may have better upconversion some DVD players.

Second, I'm drooling a bit over that Treo 650 deal... those without previous sprint service are looking at one hell of a deal considering that phone still goes for $400 in most places. Only $50 worth of rebates as well, everything else shows as instant. Now that sprint has bluetooth DUN unlocked and the data plan is only $10/month, count me in.

Cheers

It requires $40/month service for 2 years to get that sprint discount. Unless you meant data is only $10 additional a month.

warning on upconverting players - ensure it has a good scaler. Any non-upconverted item will be upconverted by your tv or projector anyway, with whatever scaler that has. No good reason to buy that one if you have a fajourda anyway

Arrived at 6:07. Parking lot was full. There was a table at the front of the store with the FAR stuff. I got the one software pkg I wanted and the 350 watt power supply. They said they were already out of the Kodak 100pk photo paper, but I found one over with the other photo paper. It was free out the door. Also got Sandisk 512 SD for $19.99 AR. I know Staples is going to have these for $14.94 BF, but I don't plan to be there so I will eat the extra $5 happily. No problems. Looked around some - locating the external DVD burner I want tomorrow night - and all done by 6:30.

Just got back from the sale. What a joke. There was like 100+ people lined up waiting to get in for crappy deals. Some of these geeks look like they have never seen light or women before. I just grabbed my wireless pci card and split in like 2 minutes flat.

I bought two of the 512mb flash drives for $9.99 AR. How can I get the rebate for both if my name is on both receipts?

ANY good deals WITHOUT rebates? i glanced at the pdf, all of them are rebates deals

Everytime you send in a rebate, God gives AIDS to another person.

Has anyone done the $250 AOL deal? Is it something you get right away and can use later, or is it mailed to you, or do you have to use it on the spot?

Sure, the free 100 sheet 4x6 Kodak photo paper for inkjets. Thats free out the door. (My cusa cashier was doing the free thing for both the soft gloss and high gloss ones, which may have been a fluke, it might only supposed to be free soft gloss, the normally $10 one).
The DVDs and cds dont have mail in rebates.
The language learning software is free out the door as well, no mail in rebates.

Thats ones I noticed among the stuff I bought that didn't have MIR, other than that look at the ad. It says on the ad whats mail in rebate (as opposed to instant rebate or instant savings) and whats not. In the free section, not everything is mail in rebates. Some of them are instant.

Its a gift card, I posted some info earlier, and you can check the ad page 1 at bottom.

You mean $19.99 AR. $10 AR would be a dang hot price for a 512 meg flash USB drive. As for rebates for them, you DID purchase them separatly and at least one of them CASH didn't you? So you could mail the rebates to differant addresses? (I'm assuming here that you bought at least one of them for someone else, not both for yourself).

Sure thing, you pay me the $15 * 12 it will cost me for the year subscription to AOL to get the $250 rebate on it and I'll get it for you. Then again, thats going to be so much trouble, I'll have to charge you a premium too :) Plus that aol thing is a gift certificate for cusa which means I'll have to spend MORE money there.

And btw, this is at cusa, not CC.

Here it was a mix of 2x and 8x media. Lots more 8x media availible though. The 2x is in red packaging, the DVD-R 8x was in green packaging and the DVD+R 8x was in blue packaging. I grabbed 1 of the dvd-r 8x.

I saw some guy wheel out a shopping cart FULL!! no joke, FULL of the 50 dvd cakes of the 8x DVD-R. How many of these can you fit into a cart? 50? 100? Anyway it was a lot. Surprisingly there was enough left over for me to go back and get one in my 2nd go through the lines.

Yep, that's what I was talking about. Verizon wants $40/month for unlimited data. Free N/W and 500 anytime is enough for me, and with data that's only going to be $50/mo. I'm a happy dude.

Cheers
