I have a box of Carnation instant in my desk drawer. The company keeps several dozen boxes in stock in our break room at all times. :)

There are better brands but this is free! :D

Hot chocolate (any brand, doesn't really matter)
+ French Vanilla Cafe Latte
+ Cinnamon
+ Nutmeg
+ Hot milk (or eggnog if you're feeling adventurous, then no extra nutmeg)

Much better than any plain hot chocolate you'll ever lay your taste buds on.

That's the stuff I use except I make it on the stovetop.
I sometimes add a little Frangelico, a hazelnut liquer. Tasty.

I like to make about half a gallon. I use Hershey's bitter chocolate powder, combine it with sugar in a saucepan with a pinch of salt and a small amount of water until it is all dissolved. Transfer it to a larger pot, add milk and bring to a simmer. Add several sticks of cinnamon and simmer some more.

Toast some sour dough or sheepherders bread, slather with butter and serve.

Tear off pieces of bread, dunk into chocolate and enjoy.

I like any old brand of hot chocolate, but its even better when you put a dollop of whipped cream in it... oh man thats good... if everyone else wasn't asleep right now I'd go make myself a cup.
