I ordered these sunglasses on Monday, and they arrived this afternoon.

$45 shipped is a great deal for high quality glasses from a very reputable company. I have owned many Bolle products over the years and they have all been great.

The style is very similar to the traditional Oakleys, and the lenses are actually much darker than they look in the picture provided by Campmor (they are also mirrored).

I highly recomend these to anyone in the market for a high quality, inexpensive pair of polarized sunglasses.

Its risky ordering glasses over the net without trying them on. No idea how well they'll fit your head or how well they'll actually look on you.

I thought the same thing, but Campmors return policy is no questions asked, with no restocking fee

I ordered. I've had my current pair of Bolle's for 8 years, and they are still in great shape! Well wothj what I paid for them. I've wanted a nice pair of polarized lenses for a while - great deal!

FYI:

Light reflected from (non- metallic surfaces) like a flat road or smooth water is generally horizontally polarized. This horizontally polarized light is blocked by the vertically oriented polarizers in the sunglass lenses. ( Imagine microscopic vertical window blinds) This results in a reduction in glare.

One shortcoming of polarized sunglasses is that they make viewing LCD displays difficult, if not impossible at certain angles. At certain angles, the LCD display will go totally black.

This is because (nematic phase or TN) LCD displays work via an applied electric current causing the liquid crystal molecules to "untwist" in a controlled manner between two thin polarizing filters, thereby blocking the passage of light through that area of the LCD display, making it darker than the surrounding areas.

Anyway, these seem to be a pretty good buy, but Campmor seems to have A LOT of sunglass sales.

Another short answer, it allows fishermen to see into the water a little better. :)

COSTCO has a deal thru this weekend where they have $15 off a pair of bolle or serengeti sunglasses. I picked up a pair of polarized bolle's for abt $30. YMMV though this was in salt lake city.

Polarized sunglasses aren't as expensive as they used to be. A couple of months ago I picked up a pair of comfortable polarized sunglasses by "Solar Comfort" from Kmart. Price? $20 with tax! Of course I scratched them a couple of days later. Need to pickup another pair...

Nice deal, thanks. I think I'm in for a pair, too.

If you want to see a nice selection of Bolle, check out ecost.com. But I think these are nicer than anything else I see for $40 now.
