In my area of Florida these have never been street legal but that fails to stop the vast majority from wasting their money and throwing their kids on these things. These can be highly dangerous to their riders because you are trusting car/truck drivers to avoid them (if they can be seen at all). Not a good deal ...

Well, using your logic, if these should be banned because you are trusting car/truck drivers to avoid them (if they can be seen at all) then we should probably ban bicycles too.

What are you talking about? What logic? IT'S THE LAW! These are illegal to use IN THOSE AREAS that they normally would be like sidewalks. Please get that lobotomy.

These devices are safe for people who are responsible and teach their children how to safely use it.

I used to have a custom little doom buggy type deal when I was a kid and I can't really remember a more fun time than that... so innocent, so naive....
