I was in best buy and figured I would give it a shot and went ahead and ordered a 3770k threw them and asked if they would price match microcenter dot com and the kid looked it up on there site and with no questions asked did the price match!!!

I have a microcenter near me but its like a 1.5 hour drive and he said they match online stores and not to worry.

So if you don't have a microcenter near you and want a cheap 3770k just go to best buy and have them price match it!

Wonder if the kid will get in trouble since that price is not for online sale but in-store only.

I doubt it as I talked to a few people in the service department and worst case I could of drove to the microcenter near me to buy it at the lower price.

This is definitely a case of YRMV. The Best Buy near me wouldn't price match BestBuy.com even though the website gave the option of in store pickup. No joke.

Since when did Best Buy sell CPUs? They sell RAM but that is the closest I have ever seen.

They dont stock them in stores.you have to order them on bestbuy.com or in stores.

im having shipped to the store to save on sales tax too

Too bad you didn't try to get the 3570k price matched and then get them to match Microcenter's $40 off a compatible motherboard.

Bestbuy changed the price match policy, I haven't tried it yet, but supposedly they are very good about honoring the low price promise. I guess too many people come in try out electronics , hop on the cell phone look at amazon, and buy from elsewhere. I had an employee remind me to price match last weekend , I was looking at tablets, and he must have seen me look at amazon, the tablet was 30 dollars cheaper at amazon, the employee walked over and said "remember sir, we can match almost anyone online."

Good point, yes you're right. They made a big effort to keep people from going in to check stuff out, then head home to buy online. I'm sure there are limits but generically speaking they price match pretty much any decent sized online retailer.

The only problem I have with bestbuy, is the hit or miss stores. I will drive out of my way to the bestbuy 30 minutes from my house before I will go into the one near my house. I have been in the store by my house looking for an item, and no one in the entire store knows if they have it, or even what it is, I go to the store in Owasso , and the employees seem well trained, almost as if they are on commission trying to offer help, not saying they are experts by any stretch, but trying to help counts in my book.

The best buy around me still gives me a hard time for price matching. Its a wonder why they struggle at that store. The one 25 mins away from me will price match without question.

Surprised to hear that anyone has problems with price matching Amazon, Frys or Newegg. They are all well known electronic retailers.

If bestbuy started price matching MicroCenter I would be overjoyed as the closest MC is 4 hours away. I may try this soon and see.

It depends on the kid you talk to.I got lucky and had no issue ordering my 3770k and didn't even have to push about price matching.I just politely asked if he could price match micro centers price and 2 min later I was on my way.

I'm debating on ordering a 4470k now when I go in to pick up the 3770k.it should be in this week and the email I got said estimated June 9th but the kid say they always come before the date they say.

Do you have to go to a Best Buy store or pick it up in store to price match or can I do it online and have it shipped to me? The nearest Best Buy is around 45 mins from me so by the time I pay for gas to go out there and back, it certainly negates a decent chunk of the savings.

They won't price match online as I tried that first while talking to someone in a chat box on there web site.once you go to the store and order it and have it price matched you can have them ship it to your home.the only reason why I had mine shipped to the store was that I saved on sales tax as I live on the border of ma and nh and there is no sales tax in nh.

The store I used was the one in Salem nh

Yes, I just spoke with someone about an hour ago via their live chat and he said they won't price match Microcenter. I read through their entire "Low Price Guarantee" policy and it makes absolutely no sense why they would say no. It clearly states that as long as it's a legitimate, well known retailer that they would price match ANY price so long as it wasn't something like a big sale, coupon, refurbished, etc. Microcenter's prices are their established everyday prices that are clearly advertised both on their site and in local ads so I'm not understanding how they can justify saying no? 😱

The person I talked too said as long as its not clearance and was an everyday price he could match it.

Maybe I should get a bunch of them before they stop doing it

The person I talked to said they can price match micro center but not do it online and I would need to go into a store to order it.
