On the amazon.ca website, Band of Brothers - pre-order pricing is at $89.67CDN. S&H to U.S. is $5.48CDN, for a total shipped price of $95.05CDN. Use the $10 off $50 coupon code and get it for $85.05CDN shipped....That's US$53 shipped, folks! Best deal I can find on BofB.

Thanks Neomits...I'm about to finish Stephen Ambrose's book (B&N had it for $5) and now I think I have enough background to watch the series.

How do you order through amazon.ca if you are a US resident? Do you just create a new account there even with your US residence and make a purchase? This is crazy to have the Canadian price the same as the US $ price...They should just match their own price!
 
Your amazon account works for both US and CA. I orderd Brotherhood of the Wolf collector's edition, cost me $30 shipped. It's gonna be a little slow getting here but hey it's a hell of a lot cheaper than what those ebay bastards are asking for.

Holy crap they got LOTR for only $23 US more, might as well get both since shipping is free (picture it as buying BOB here for $80 and getting LOTR for free).
 
I just tried it, sure enough...just login with the same login information and it automatically selects international shipping, etc. We just have to hope the exchange rates are still favorable...although there is NO way we'll pay more for it...as it is actually cheaper in Canadian $...What a rip off for US buyers???

I paid extra for the expedited shipping (4 business days) which should actually be faster than the free US shipping...And it was only a total of $10.40 Ca $ but with coupon it was free!

Any other good buys through Amazon Canda?

Is this version going to be the same as what is going to be released in the US? In other words, do I have to worry about DVD region player compatibility?
 
I thought the whole North America is one whole region as far as the dvd region code is concerned (i.e., may not be in some other sense) 😀

Canada shares Region 1 encoding with the USA so it will work just fine if your player plays Region 1 DVDs.

I don't know why the drastic price differences but oh well. Whatever works.



The Best Buy deal sounds nice... but thats before 9 dollars of tax so its really for 75 bucks. Maybe they'll drop their price down 10 bucks the first week MAYBE but still thats 65 bucks.


And yeah I opted for the quicker shipping as well. Only 2 dollars more

eventhough under the dvd, it said free shipping if you order $75 or more only apply to Canadian address, and not US address.

FYI for those who like instant gratificaiton, I confirmed that BOB will be $69.99 at Bay Area's Fry's. I also hear the price will be good in the LA area as well.

And this isn't a movie, this is a 10-hour mini-series, based on REAL LIFE events in WW2. IMHO the absolute best war "movie" ever made at the level of the common solier. You really feel like you are looking back in a time machine. I have a new respect for our grandfathers.
