Damnit! I bought this DVD about a month or so ago for $50... Oh well, I still think it was well worth it. You are crazy if you pass up this deal, even if you have a low-end home theater system.

I have an older 27" Sony Trinitron with S-Video that looks much better after optimizing the settings using this DVD. I use a PS2 for my DVD player, and while there was only a slight improvement on the DVD picture, video games improved immensely.

As for the sound calibrations, I have yet to purchase an SPL meter, so I haven't explored that side of things.

Eventually I will be getting a nice 36" WEGA, and hopefully a Denon (w/ DTS-EX) receiver with some nice Paradigm or Definitive surrounds. Avia will sure come in handy then, eh?

Speaking of WEGA's, I have a 36" and it was worth EVERY PENNY, even paying retail for it (I wanted to get the warranty and I conned them out of free delivery and monster cables). I know, I know retail is for suckers but if you're paying around $2K for a TV you probably want piece of mind. A pretty good deal (for retail) is to go into a B&M like Circuit City and get a WEGA, the warranty, and the TV stand, and demand free delivery and monster cables (saved myself $100). The manager/sales rep. will ALWAYS crumble. Trust me. It's like buying a new car. Be diligent...

And back on topic, this DVD is pretty good.
