If you sign up with the $30 or $40 plan, you get 3000min/m for 6 months.
If you sign up with the $50 or higher plans, you get 3000min/m for a whole year.

The good thing about this deal is that I signed up 2 months ago and I called them up to ask If I could get this promotion. They said yes and that I had to extend my contract 1 year from today.

Here's their number: 888-505-2888

3000 free minutes

shizen! that deal does not apply to customers in the SF Bay Area. we have to call 1-800-992-3551 and our web site is www.attws-sf.com ... what a steaming pile of dung.

Thanks for the heads up though, hope some of you can take advantage of this.

Cingular Wireless gives you unlimited night and weekened minutes. AT&T almost doubles your regular minutes but unlimited night and weekend is great.

Too bad that in Atlanta, their 1900mhz PCS service/coverage is not too good (lots of drops and no Pocketnet-wireless web). Make sure it works for you before the return period is up.

Horrible service here in Florida as well.
Many days it's just like the Sprint guy says.
hfrft hghuop and uyrop, ok?
This is in Ft. Lauderdale thru Miami, and Tampa/Clearwater north.
If ATT can't get it right in areas that are flat, and have no tall buildings....
ATT is my 3rd Cell phone company in 4 years.
GTE/Verizon was not bad. Ariel/Voicestream was GREAT.
But ATT might as well just give us some tin cans and a string.
I too signed up for the ATT deal a couple months ago, and can't
wait to drop them in only 8 more months.

ATT's new scam, I mean plan.

eewww. contracts!!
anyway, contracts are the reason I'm planning to switch to GSM network. Guessing the 8890 is my first choice since I do like to travel around a LOT! :)

but this is definately a good deal. especially if you like talking to your gf thru the cell phone! I have the 1000min weekend weeknight package and always seem to go over by a couple hundred minutes... costs quite a bit :(

Yes, contracts with bad service suck.
I just send an email to ATT to find out how much the early cancellation penalty will be. It would be worth it to pay them $100 or so, instead of having to use there service for another 8 months.

AT&T works great in Dallas. BTW, I got the phone free from 1800mobiles.com and I should get $125 in rebates soon.

I already tried calling and getting in this promotion, but the CSR said I couldn't get the 1000 minutes (I have 29.99 regional) because I already have an existing promotion on my account (500 min nights/weekends).

The cancellation fee is 10 bucks per month. If you have 8 months remaining with ATT, you just have to pay 80 bucks and be done with it.

I like ATT because I really travel a lot across the country. Pacbell (I only can remember the old name) has good nice looking phones (8890, for example) and with the good local plan but the coverage sucks.

Uncool - Did you try calling 888-505-2888? I had 500 nights/weekends also. Did they ask you about extending your contract to 12 months from now to get promotion? They will let you have the 1000 minutes if you stay with them for 1 more year from today.

After the 6 months is up, I will go back to 500 minutes cuz I have the $29.99 plan.

Voicestream is great so far. No complaints, no dropouts and misbillings like Sprint.....

And 4000 minutes for 70 bucks a month with two free phones is a deal baby. Oh, and did I mention the store mananger threw in two free carrying cases, earpieces, car chargers, and belt clips?

I just cancelled AT&T Wireless mauahhahha!

AT&T has been great for me. I think the type of signal strength that you get depends on the type of phone. I have an 8260 and have rarely gone below full strength. My roommate has voicestream and has been screwed over on the last couple of bills. Not to mention that his service sucks.

I have the regional 120 (120mins with 500 nites/weekends)
I don't think I can get the 3000mins unless I get the DIGITAL ADV PLAN..
which I do not want, because its local calling area is just a 30-40 mile swath thru Atlanta and east/west.
I wanted the regional plan for free long dist and no roaming thru the 6 southeast states..and no long dist nationwide either (just 60c per min outside local states(southeast)..
Here is what the AT&T website says about the 3000min deal:

PLUS when you choose an AT&T Digital Advantage calling plan, you can receive up to 3000 free minutes a month. Sign up now for any AT&T Digital Advantage $49.99 monthly and higher and get up to 3000 additional night and weekend minutes a month at no extra charge for one full year, or get up to 3000 night and weekend minutes per month for 6 months if you sign up for an AT&T Digital Advantage $29.99 or $39.99 calling plan!

Sign up now for any AT&T Regional Advantage calling plan $49.99 monthly and higher and get up to 1000 additional night and weekend minutes a month at no extra charge for one full year, or get up to 1000 night and weekend minutes per month for 6 months if you sign up for an AT&T Regional Advantage $29.99 or $39.99 calling plan.

SO.. it sounds like with the reg. adv plan.. I am getting what I WAS getting.. (notice that they say UP TO 1000 MINS).. that means prob
500 for the 29$ plan.. and 1000 for the 39$.
SAME deal as already.. sigh

Triggerhappy.. you need to update the title of this thread to say 'digital adv plan only' (for the 3000min plan)
