Hot and warm sprint cell phone deals : Sanyo 5300 $89 after pm/rebates, Sanyo 4900 $49

Here are a couple great deals on some sprint phones. For new customers, you can get a sanyo 5300 (really nice phone w/built in camera) for ~ $39 after pm and rebates. ymmv, of course. Best buy has it advertised this week for $299.99 after an instant rebate. Go to circuit city and pm to bb's price w/10% price guarantee, and there are 2 rebates available for $250. So it is $399 cc price - $299 bb price - 10% pm = $289 - $150 cc rebate - $50 sprint rebate = $89 final cost.

the circuit city rebate only needs copies of the upc, but the sprint one needs originals, i believe.

For existing sprint customers, you can go to the sprint store and get any phone they have and get whatever rebate is available on them instantly off, but you have to sign a new contract for 1 year. (others report needing a 2 yr. contract, so ymmv). I picked up a sanyo 4900 today for $49 plus tax out the door with no activation fees. i only needed a 1 year contract extension. i'm also on a retention plan that i got back in november (which i received a $100 credit back then). I would have loved to get the awesome 5300, but i just needed something to get by, because my old startac was slowly getting more and more dropped calls and problems. Plus, i've spent too much money recently on hot deals. One more thing, to be an "existing" customer, you have to have had your phone for at least 9 months to get in on this promotion. This promotion is supposed to end this friday, but some report it ending mar. 1st. The rep today told me it ends friday, so i'm not sure if they'll extend it or not.

This was sort of pieced together from a few threads in f@twallet. I did a few searches here, but didn't find anything.

EDIT: it seems i can't post a link to the rebates for some reason, but just search "sanyo 5300" on cc's website, and the rebates are there.
EDIT: looks like cc changed the $200 rebate last night to a $150 one. i'm looking around for the $200 one though (it was clearly valid until 02/01/03).

original $200 rebate from 01/26/03 - 02/01/03 <- right click and save as.

HEY! Wake up everybody!! The Sanyo 5300 is a $400 phone! I can't believe this isn't getting any attention? If paperclips were 90% off they'd be getting more attention than this...You might want to throw in 90% off somewhere in the thread title...

Is the 5300 nationally advertised for 299.99 this week? I looked in the circular for my area (Buffalo, NY) and there was no Sanyo 5300 on sale.

Well i just got back from my local CC,

They pricematched to Bestbuy ($299) and then printed out forms for $150 MIR and a $50 MIR.

The salesman wasnt sure if CC would honor the $150 MIR though because he sold me the phone for a lower price, but I'm pretty sure he was wrong since the rebate dosent specify anything about price requirements.

FYI, Its a $150 MIR and a $50 MIR, there is no $200 MIR from what i saw in store (nor on the website)

Also, Look on the BACK PAGE of the bestbuy circular for the advertised $299 price. Took me awhile to find it too 😀

sorry guys, i haven't really checked back on this thread since no one seemed interested. the circuit rebates are online, just look up the sanyo 5300, and both forms are there. and the 5300 is also on the best buy circular this week on the back page. i'll try to fix the links if i can.

edit: crap....the $150 one was $200 yesterday and still valid til the end of this week! i'll keep looking around.

Yea, i was just lookin at em too. The phone will come to $99 after all rebates if my calculations are correct....

Did anyone print the $200 Rebate form when it was up last night....if they did is there any way I can get a copy of that form!! Please!

don't worry about it, you still got an awesome phone at a great price. i've been drooling over this phone for the last couple months. i just wish there was a better deal for existing customers on it.

Son just bought 5300 at local CC. Very nice manager would NOT price match, except AFTER rebates were accounted for....so phone will end up costing $399 - $150 - $50 or $199.

My dear lord, this is a BEAUTIFUL PHONE! I've been playin with it for a few hours straight now and im still finding new features 😀

How did u get CC to pricematch with BB? My CC doesn't. They said their deal beat BB since their come out to be 199, instead of 249 at BB. So can I still get 150 MIR from CC if I do the pricematch? What is legible copy of CC sale receipt? Does it mean I can't make a copy of the sale receipt at home and send it with the MIR form? My CC wouldn't give me their $150 MIR if they do the pricematch, I'd only get $50 MIR from sprint.

I used the excuse that i want to pay less upfront, and therefore i would go to bestbuy instead to buy the phone. The rebate is also available online from their site, so if they refuse just print it out yourself.

I also called CC Rebates to ask about rebates on pricematched products and the nice lady told me it should be fine.

and if so, how are you getting the rebates to go through?
