Hot AMD

Just as the title says...

I've got an AMD XP 64 3500+ Running anywhere from 112-130F depending on the ambient temp. I've had it for almost a year now and when I first got it it would idle around 85-90F, now it's a full 30 deg hotter. I cleaned my case yesterday and reseat'd the chip with artic 5 silver thermal paste and no sig. change in the temp. Any suggestions? PS> It's got the stock AMD fan and heat sink that came with the chip. I'm just wondering what would cause such a change?

yes, and I pulled the heat sink off and cleaned it with alcohol and then applied the artic silver 5... also removed the chip and cleaned it too...

54C is that under load?

did you just clean the hsf or the whole computer? the other fans make a difference too.

whole unit. I've got 3 other fans on the case... it's running 114 right now at almost idle while i'm typing this in a 70 deg room... maybe a little cooler...

wow...I say pull that heat sink off and start your oen deli!!

You can grill hot sandwiches on the CPU base!!!
