Arguably BF3 seems to do better with higher cores. AMD's Moar Cores strategy does seem to be paying off, its just a real slow climb

Yes. From what I understand, more cores will benefit multitasking even if no single program is capable of using all 8 cores at the same time. I would say this is a fairly good processor to consider if you are in the market for one.

I've seen benchies that show Crysis 3 with these chips runs right there with the 3770k or so.
