Mothresin, nice try at starting a theology/bashing thread. The word "God" wasn't meant to instigate religious discussion. But obviously you're not bright enough to realize that, or to understand the intent of my post. Thanks for being a prime example of the pond scum of these forums.

<< At least Dell could do is give a stackable $25+ off or something to all who got their orders cancelled. >>

No, the least Dell could have done is simply cancelled our orders. They are not at all obligated to give us ANYTHING, not even this 10% coupon. If you were actually expecting to receive stackable 25$ coupon, I'm not sure what to tell you.

No cancellation here yet...I ordered late on 12/12 and I'm still showing green at Dell's site too. Maybe a lucky few will still get this? If not, I'm sure Dell is going to get a bunch of angry phone calls.

What the hell is your problem Fishbonez?

Comments like:
"I personally hope that Dell tightens their screws and doesn't provide any future great deals to any of you complainers."

are just plain ignorant. You're obviously looking for great deals or you wouldn't be reading this forum, so why in the hell would you wish that Dell never provides another deal? In two posts you labled everyone here children, cry babies, morons, and pond scum. Way to go Mr. Maturity.

For the most part for 5 days we had all the reason in the world to believe (up until cancelled) that we would be getting the speakers.

Granted, many of us weren't banking on it, but that doesn't stop people (including myself) from being dissapointed about it. Some people may have been counting on them more then others (Xmas shoppers) and I don't blame them for being upset since they now have only 4 days to find something else.

They cancelled my order after sending me a shipping date-They also cancelled my NIC order. So I cancelled them- with this little email response to their support site:

Both of these orders were cancelled by you after showing them in stock when I ordered them. After sending me not only confirmation emails, but also estimated shipping dates, you have now cancelled them. If a company like Dell cannot keep track of how many units it has in stock for sale via e-commerce, you should hire some IBM consultants to show you how. Or, maybe start using AMD processors since obviously your computers are not fast enough to keep up with the demand on your systems.
Please remove all my personal and company information from your systems including credit card numbers, and email me back with a confirmation that you have done so.

This is at least the 3rd time they have cancelled an order, so I really have no use for them anymore.

This is what I wrote back to Dell.

This is an insult! To make up for this by giving me a
10% discount that can't be used with any other
discounts and expires the 4th of January is worthless.
For purposes of public relations it would be better
not to give anything at all than this.

The 10% coupon is kind of worthless as it can't be combined with their pretty much standard specials of 10% to 25% off peripherals. They cancelled the speakers, but supposedly my Belkin NIC cards are still going to come sometime after February. My fingers are crossed on that one.

"Dear Dell Customer,

Thank you for choosing Dell for your recent software and accessories purchase. We regret to inform you that an error created the
erroneous appearance of stock supply for the Altec Lansing ADA880 speakers that you ordered. The problem has since been corrected, but as a result we are unable to fulfill your recent order for the speakers.

If you have any questions or need further assistance you can..."

Blah, blah, blah - you've got the idea.

This is at least 3rd time in the last 3 months, I haven't received a merchandize I had ordered from them. I don't think I'll be willing to do business with them in the future.

<< You children need to grow up and drop the "you owe me" attitude. Anyone who held back buying other gifts because they believed that this would happen is a complete and utter moron. Any intelligent person would know the odds were slim to none. And now most of you feel that you should be compensated.

Of course no one complains when they DO get a great deal from Dell. I personally hope that Dell tightens their screws and doesn't provide any future great deals to any of you complainers.

God help us if you babies are the future of this country, because we're in deep $hit.
>>

I totally agree. I got in on this deal too and my order was canceled too, but what could you really expect? I put in the order hoping it would go through but I didn't really expect much. It's really sad if you have to go cry and moan every time somebody raises your hopes and shatters them, especially over some speakers that were obviously mispriced.
