Don't worry about the RED refurb sign beside it, since all Abit product in refurb section have that marking.

Also, you get a free Newegg T-shirt ($10 value) with any Abit product purchase. 🙂 Free T-Shirt

yep, this is sure a good buy. just hope the board isn't a dead one.

as for the "free t-shirt" have you actually got it to work? b/c i tried it... and my total still comes up w/ that $10 extra for the shirt, not sure if that "free t-shirt" only applies to new abit stuff or not.

thanks!

Most of NewEgg refurb mobo's are dead, NewEggg doesn't test anything from Rma's, they just recycle them over and over that's why the same one's are there 24/7/365

thats not true!! if they were dead then they would be in the scratch and burn section which clearly states "DEAD" also i dont see the same boards there!!! ive seen boards in stock then in a couple of weeks later they have some. so you should get your fact straight b4 thread crapping!!

Bull. Most refurb mobos on newegg are return items, not dead. Ask around, do a search, most people(I'm guessing 80-90%) get a good product, and the rest RMA it.

It's just in my experience after ordering 5 refurb motherboards from newegg 4 were dead or defective in some way and the same day they received them from my rma they were relisted in the refurb section for sale again!

Actually I don't think you've ordered enough refurbs, keep trying, PM me when you get your first one that's been drawn all with a pencil on the socket.

😉

I've been 0.5 for 2 on refurbs. The first was a KG7, couldn't put a DIMM into one of the slots. On closer inspection it was being blocked by a grain of rice, removing it fixed it. The second was a KR7, wouldn't boot. Looked at the back side and there were burn marks by the CPU socket, some genius used metal washers to hold his heatsink down and fried a couple layers of PCB. They have damn good prices but I'd be careful and thoroughly test as soon as it comes in.

10+ newegg refurb boards and no dead ones.....

you are just unlucky.

dew.

Okay, guys. The free T-shirt will become free only after you check out, in the final page where you input your credit card info, you will see it has -$10 discount, which makes the T-shirt free. Then you can click submit to commit the order or just close the browser if you only want to check if it is free. 🙂

I agree with Stumblebum, it's a crapshoot people.
Be prepared either way, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Already out of stock now(when I posted, they have like 37 or so), hopefully people all get working ones. 🙂

curious - how many of you have received mobos with or without accessories?

i'm especially worried about the aluminum mold for the motherboard connectors that pop through the PC case, since a lot of these have odd connections with firewire, or built in sound, etc.

i think i'm going to grba one for my folks' computer, since i'm not in any rush to build it. i'll just snag parts from my P4 PC...

All five that i ordered came in with just the motherboard in a generic white box

I've got good boards and CPU's from them, but I've also go marginal products. Never got one that was just DEAD

I got a bare-board P4B266-C from them before, working all fine, overclocking ability same as my retailed one.

The only thing you need to worry about is that, with the refurbished item, there is no accessories. That is the main reason I selected this board, since the accessories is only several cables and one usb plug, no biggy deal. I choose it over an Asus P4B533 refurbished ones, which has too many accessories that will hurt me if I don't get them.
