what a show.

Slick Rick and Bustah were on stage with more necklaces and jewelry than I have ever seen in my life. Busta probably had close to 10 pounds of necklaces or more. Iced out fruits, helmets, i dont even know what he had dangling there covered in jewels and diamonds but it was seriousl obscene must have been worth 10+ million

F*** New York hip hop.

hip hop wouldnt exist without NY. But thats a diff thread for a diff day.

No, its a thread for right now. New York Hip Hop has sucked for the last 8 years and you arrogant fvck's can't tell. And when people bring it up you always say "we invented hip hop."

That's like American's say "we invented the television" even though Japan, Korea, and China produce all the televisions today.

well your original statement certainly didnt include all this information. If you would like to start again fresh that would be acceptable. but "****** New york hip hop" with no caveats is just a retarded troll statement.

I think there's a rule on this forum that you're only allowed to post music threads on RHCP and Tool.

Led Zeppelin, Metallica and Pink Floyd are also allowed.

Not a fan of hiphop, but I would have went to that show. Love Mary J. Blige, also the old school rappers. Where was it at?

IMO, the south ruined hip hop... with all this "krunk" crap. and, southern music is just down right horrible, with an exception to a few artists.

but yeah, been to summer jam when jay first performed his infamous "takeover" song... unbelievable.

also, if you live in NY and love real hip hop, by tickets for the Marc Ecko Save the Rhinos with Common and Rakim performing at central park on thurs..

Yes, they are both from Atlanta...
They both get more spins on NY radio than most NY rappers -- and they get more love from the "streets." NY hip hop is on life support right now with the exception of a few rappers (including Ghostface who recently said not only "F*** NYC" but also "f*** hip hop" which in my eyes disregards him from the crown)

I mean who else is really in the running? 50? He lives in CT and barely acknowledges NYC anymore. Busta? You gotta be kidding me with that one and he is from Long Island anyways. Jay? Retired. Nas? Too busy with his tattoo of Kelis on his arm. Fab? Maybe in a few years. Mos Def? Go buy his cd if you want him to run it....

Note: It was kind of joke -- but i was about 60% serious with that first comment.
