hi guys, found this at an endcap at my local Circuit City today, it's made by Kaser, so it's not a namebrand, but it's got 64MB built-in memory, supports USB 1.1, drag& drop style - seems like it functions as a USB memory device too! it says it'll "only play MP3 files on the disk when there are other files on there". It also is expandable, "128MB Smartmedia", so I am guessing 192MB max capacity.

It includes AA battery, ear bud, usb cable. It's in bright orange casing, and there were tons of them.

What do you guys think?

This sounds like one of those "you get what you pay for" deals, but I could be wrong. "only play MP3 files on the disk when there are other files on there" - doesn't sound right to me.

I got one for $30 last time around. It's good for the cost. The USB disk feels a lot slower than the Jumpdrive, but it works. It plays MP3's there's 3 equilizers, and you have to hold it down a bit for the volume to come up a bit.

Worth it for $20.

yeah it's definitely a lowerend product. However for the price I thought it was nicely featured. I think the "only plays MP3 files..." is referring to the fact that you can store data files (like a USB memory key) and the player will properly recognize those files and skip over them.

Not a lot of bass eh? is that from the included ear bud (probably crap) or is it still lacking bass with a pair of decent headphones?
