What is the link because I went to the website and they don't have 50% off? Also Staples does not match cell phones because of the contracts that are involved.

ummm... you have to agree to a 2 year contract to get the 50% off of their phones. i was at their PCS store all day yesterday so i know about this requirement. not only that, but it's 50% off of their SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE, which is their highest price. i was shopping for a Sprint PCS phone this whole week, and i ended up buying a phone at Circuit City yesterday. let me list couple of better deals:

1. if you are a new customer with Sprint, or going to add a second NEW line for yourself, then your best bet is with BestBuy. right now, BestBuy is issuing $100 BestBuy gift card good towards any purchase in the store when you buy ANY Samsung Sprint PCS phones, or $75 for other brand PCS phones, and activate the phone with a new number. phones range from under $100 to couple hundred, and as far as i know, you can be on a month-to-month plan, and then cancel after you receive your gift card.

2. if you are an existing Sprint customer (like me) and wanted to upgrade phones, then Circuit City has a pretty good deal. all Circuit City wireless phones are on sale right now, and some have really good prices. i brought BestBuy ad to Circuit City, and pointed out the $100 BestBuy gift card offer to the manager. the manager first agreed to match the deal by giving me $100 in phone accessories. but since Circuit City only had 2 accessories for my phone, he took off $50 from the phone purchase instead. this worked out better for me, since i would not have been able to qualify for the BestBuy gift card.
manager told me almost all Circuit City stores will try to match competitors' deals, but your mileage may vary on this one.

Sprint R0x0rs. ;)

Been with Sprint for 3 years with no problems. No contract either.
If you live in the LA area don't even CONSIDER anything else. AT&T/Cingular/Verizon all get bitch-slapped by Sprint when you're in the West LA metro area or in the boondocks near the coast.

I must agree with the statement about service in LA. I lived in San Diego and always had good service with Sprint PCS in LA. Only lost signal when I went through the Marine base on the ay to LA. I've been across the country with Sprint, and now use it in New England. I am having problems out here with "Network Busy"

Also, the Uproar would be the only one that would entice me to sign the 2 year agreement.

DON'T use Sprint in Manhattan. What a joke. I get an "analog" signal all over the place on my Samsung 3500 (not to mention those nasty "Network Busy" messages). Even the comedians are making fun of Sprint PCS in NYC...

Sprint coverage in New Orleans is excellent. The Uproar's a pretty good deal @ $200, considering it's a 64MB MP3 player too. :)

I LIVE in West LA and the service is not "bitch-slapping" anything...
I get less reception than anyone I know that has cingular although my coverage isn't absolutely horrible.

I live in arcadia, so cali. cingular has by far the best plan for me, but the service is terrible. I'm on an unlimited mobile-to-mobile and put on about 1100 minutes a month :D but can't call out around my home. heck, all of arcadia, temple city, monrovia, pasadena has problems allowing calls out, receiving calls, etc. the only thing I CAN do reliably is text message.

I get in so many minutes because my girl and I both commute out of town to get to school. out in BFE where I am and near santa monica where she ends up both have decent signal. nowhere else...

I'm going for at&t. I really want to find the mits. t250, but I don't know if I can pair that phone with pocket net service AND family plan coverage.

that said, wassup with at&t cell coverage in my area? any good? I'm going to them off the advice of a friend who works in the 411 call center locally that covers 411 from at&t, cingular, verizon, nextel, and sprint. she says at&t is the only one that has never dropped a call, and cingular and sprint constantly drop.

I used to be a sales rep for AT&T. Their coverage in L.A. is the best, but they have the worst service plans. If your in it for the minutes, go with Sprint. I live in Burbank and have had Sprint service for 2 years now. Currently on the 1000 anytime/2000 n/w anywhere in U.S. for $75 plan they offered not too long ago. I travel throughout the L.A. metro area and I get pretty decent coverage. Sprint has been growing rapidly ever since there inception here in 1997. They've got good rates and aren't in too that stupid azz contract shiat everyone else is. Like I said, you can't beat their rates.

Primeco is offering unlimited cell service for 49.99. If you use a lot of minutes it's hard to beat.

smench, don't know about you but my qualcomm phone works great in NYC. My job gave me an AT&T phone and the quality of the call is much lower. I am very satisfied with Sprint in the NYC area. I can't say the same for AT&T...

Sprint PCS is ok if you are going to stay in West LA.. once you get out of it.. like driving towards the valley.. not even reaching the valleys, it will get bitch-slapped like a cheap slut asking for it. I work by the airport, great reception.. but when I am home in the valleys, people can't even call me. But gotta admit they got good plans tho.

Sprint works great for me for the past 2 years in NYC, with a Motorola Startac, then a V.8162.
The Samsung Uproar for $199 is a great deal. A small phone + MP3 player is cool. The Timeport for $119 isn't that bad either.
Looks like my V.8162 is still full price. :-(

I live in ny also, and my reception in NYC is great, i think i get better when i'm in other boroughs.. and i like the Sprint plans, i have plenty of minutes (500/1500), and I can cal my girlfriend long distance, and I can use my phone when I go visit my girl in Pennsylvania... I have a Samsung 8500 phone. When I went to the Sprint PCS store, they told me the 6100 was $100 (- 50% = $50)...
