techbargains gave me the idea for this...they listed the accessmicro price

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

this is for all you wal-mart laptop owners out there...
(i'm typing this on mine :):))

1) go to staples
2) add sku # IM1129575 to your cart...this is the card...will show up as $157.49
3) add anything to your cart worth at least $2.05
4) place the order on-line to avoid coupon problems using any $30 off $100 coupon
5) if you want to save even more use the dashbar
6) after placing your order, call staples and tell them you want to do a price adjustment with acces micro

***important***
access micro has this card listed twice on their website...tell the staples CSR to do a search for 3CXFE575CT...this will bring up 3 results...one of the 3 will be the card for $89...this is the one you want to have them price adjust with...tell them to double check the part number...it is identical to staples...if you search at staples for 3CXFE575CT it will bring up the same card that sku #IM1129575 does

7) this is a 3-5 day delivery item for staples...so they will only tack on accessmicro's $8.95 ground delivery fee
8) there is a $25 rebate from 3com here
(thanks starvin marvin for pointing out the rebate ;))

let's review

staples $157.49 + tax
minus $30 coupon
then a price adjustment of $59.54 + tax
minus $25 MIR

total $42.55 + tax (not including $2.05 of crap)

GOOD LUCK

Excellent price, BUT add this REBATE and get and extra $25 off bringing it down to $45 and making it ever HOTTER. BTW, Staples is an authorized reseller.

This looks like a horrible deal. I bought my NIC card on egay for a nominal $20. I checked egay and these cards in question are going for ~$25 now. Am I missing something?

Was it a PCMCIA card that notebooks use? Or did was it the much cheaper PCI card for desktops. That's what you are missing.

Searched the part number 3CXFE575CT and only one sold for $20....Next cheapest was $40, 46, 51, 57, 59 and 90 with none currently listed.

If you got an XJack 3Com for $20, you got a great deal. I didn't have the time to wait.
