Overstock.com

$104.99 + $1 shipping = $106

ripped from fw, overstock deals 'by request'

UPDATE: Thanks r6ashih who got it for $96, and I've verified that it can be done.

This method worked for me a couple times, using multiple Internet Explorer windows.

Be sure to clear your overstock.com cookie, as well as cookie from site you get $10 off coupon before you start, just in case.

-add overstock $10 off coupon (not from chubbywallet, ie use site that has many technologybargains.) You should get $10 off window...minimize window now.
-in another browser window, click original $25 off coupon above
-add desired mattress size to cart
-click checkout
-sign in
-should take you to your order page...should show $95.99 total!

UPDATE 9/3: New $9 off $95 coupon, shipping = $2.95, total $98.95. Use same coupon order method.

Thanks for the post OP, strongly debating on this and some of the contoured pillows!

I have one of the contour pillows from costco...its very comfortable but is too hard for my likings. Unfortunately I don't know what density it is.

I was considering one of these (Costco Queen Size) because my mattress is in bad shape and I don't feel like spending $500 - $1000 on another one. I felt the memory foam pad they have at Costco and it seemed like it would be warm to lay on. Maybe with a mattress cover and sheet it would be okay? Just don't want to drop $120 and find out I don't like it.

can anyone comment on the quality of one of these versus a costco topper or one of the ones from sleepwarehouse.com?

I notice they are all 4lb density and i'm looking to pick up a 3 inch topper.

Is it warm to sleep on?

It really depends on the person, for some it is, for some it isn't warm at all. Its very warm for me in the chicago summers (great in the winter tho!) but I also wrapped a plastic dropcloth around it for protection from my dog in case she jumps up and pees in her sleep, hehe.

(So I suspect the plastic under the sheet makes it warmer because it doesn't breath.)

I'm also on my first one, which I bought at sleepwarehouse 8 months ago.

jjsole, how do you like the sleepwarehouse topper and what thickness/density did you get? That was what I was looking at until this deal popped up.

I absolutely love it...hardly even feels like there is a mattress underneath because it feels like my weight is fairly evenly distributed (feels like, atleast).

Its holding up well...the thin plastic that I use to protect it actually might help a lot, it turns yellow in the light otherwise, and it keeps oil and dirt out etc, which all keep the foam fresher.

I haven't heard of differences between brands, there may be but I haven't read about it (there is huge memory foam thread in hd, a quick search will find it.)

When I bought it in january I paid $129 shipped for their 3"/4lb queen topper.

Im looking at the 3"/4lb from overstock or sleepwarehouse. With the overstock I'd buy the cali king and cut off ten inches to fit my queen, from sleepwarehouse I would just buy the queen. I looked through the giant thread and found most people talking about pillows except one guy who was thrilled with his overstock 2" topper.

There's more info on memory foam mattresses and toppers in this recent thread:

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=40&threadid=1672567&enterthread=y

Personally, I'd recommend 5.5lbs density memory foam - I find the 4lbs stuff just too soft for me.

I've been sleeping on memory foam through the hot summer here (Portland, OR area, so not too hot or humid compared to other places), and haven't really noticed a difference heat-wise (it's immensly better comfort wise!) over the old spring mattress what we had before - a lot probably depends on what sort of cover you have over it - you need something that'll wick away the moisture if you do sweat. Also don't want anything too thick otherwise the foam won't warm up properly, and mould to your body.

WTF. I was at the second to last step of ordering and put in my shipping/billing info + CC info. The price said 104.99 + 1 shipping = 105.99 total. I clicked submit and it takes me to a confirmation screen of 129.99 + 1 shipping = 130.99 total price and they sent me a confirmation email !!!!

New customers get free shipping >$50...I was actually able to use a $10 off 100, adding the coupon, and then the mattress to the cart and get the cart down to $95.99, but when I tried to checkout, it went back up to 106. :(

well damnit, I contacted overstock and explained my problem, even showing a screenshot of the screen that lied to me about the price. Apparently they cant cancel the order 3 minutes after I submitted it. Now It is shipping to my home and I have to ship it back to them and they will waive the restocking fee. The only problem is this beast weighs 42lbs and I dont want to pay an arm and a leg to ship it back to them. They said that if I refuse the delivery the pad will get sent back to the wrong warehouse and my refund will get messed up. F-ing wonderful.

Can't cancel the order 3 minutes later?? That's rude and is total BS...especially in the early AM on saturday morning. Maybe speaking to a manager would help...frick.

Yep. I get that, and that's where it showed $95 a few times as well.

I'll bet you tried to add a coupon from a different window after that tho, because since they aren't stackable it then removes the discounts for some reason (even when a different window opens up to the coupon discount), and when you then click on 'secure checkout' the regular price is defaulted to.

during checkout the discounted price showed up, it only showed me the 129.99 after I submitted my CC info and the order, otherwise I never would have clicked it. This has to be illegal or something, I was blatently told the wrong price until after I was charged.

Edit: I didnt try to add any coupons or anything

That's brutal, they need to fix that.

I'm kinda at a loss now. Should I call up and argue more, refuse delivery despite the problems it may cause, or suck it up and let overstock win and just take the damn thing at 25$ more than I expected since I kinda want a pad still (and its sill 40 cheaper than sleepwarehouse.com, but I have heard more positive reviews about their stuff).

They are nuts if they expect me to return ship a 42lb item to their warehouse though. It would cost about 75 bucks just for me to ship it to them

She's talking to a supervisor right now...I'll post results as soon as I finish the call.
