I bought one of these off of ebay and battery life is sure as hell not 25 hours. It's really about 10 hours. Also, never, and I mean never, try to update the firmware. There is a whole forum out there dedicated to people who have flashed their firmware and pretty much destroyed the player.

What does firmware upgrade suppose to fix/add? Is the player buggy out of the box? Seriously considering it.

dont worry about the quantity, they refresh it. When I bought mine, there were only 3 left, afterwhich they had another 20, then another 20.

To my knowledge, the firmware updates don't do much. Mine wasn't not buggy at all. It's a great mp3 player for the price. I haven't regretted buying it one bit. I use it more than I ever thought I would when I bought it.

For those of you interested, the mp3 player is not USB 2.0. It's USB 1.1. It takes about 4 minutes to completely fill the player.

been using this thing for a week now, it's awesome I must say. Best part I like is it records audio. And it comes with a cool gear for carrying the thing around your neck.

anyways, i still think it's good.

I have one of these. They are pretty good. I had one question though.
could you connect one of these to the end of the MP3 player and the other end to another jump drive, and possibly have more than 256mb of mp3s? This would be kind of neat if it would work.

Anyone have info on how well it records? I want to use it for my kids music lessons so they can remember what they were supposed to learn. Do any of these units do passable music or concert recording?
Thanks, Damon

$7.49 for shipping this tiny little thing?? What a ripoff! Especially the $5.50 handling fee which isn't advertised until you check out.

Subtotal: $59.00
Ground Service Shipping: $1.99
Handling Fee: $5.50
Sales Tax: $0.00
TOTAL: $66.49

You haven't got your rebates from eCost or this manufacturer? What happens if you try calling them since they are overdue?
