Get this at Staples B&M, use your $10 off $40 coupon, send in $15 MIR and there you go, 256MB RAM for $19.94.

Is K-Byte ram any good?

My question also.
Searching google groups did not produce anything terrible (one or two people with unsubstatiated claims).

I keep hearing Jerry Pournelle's Byte columns in the back of head imploring us to use only the BEST RAM available and discovering strange events linked to cheap RAM....

http://www.kbytememory.com after some seaching a bit of guesswork ....

Ok I love staples keep ripping them off every other week.

But I ordered this Kbyte RAM a early this week. Ordered three sets for some company computers. Anyway at least here in Dallas they keep screwing it up, they send me 256mb PC800 RDRAM kits (which is 2x 128 modules). Very hot deal for $45 for some RIMMS (for the few of you unforunate enough to use it), but starting to piss me off. Today was the third time the delivery guy came by with RIMMs. I was tempted to keep them to resell but it isn't worth the time to me. Beware (or heads up depending how you look at it) Dallas residents the Staples warehouse is screwed up on this item.

If you are the PM type, you can price match Staples price at OfficeMax, who has the same memory for $80. With OM's 115% price match, you can buy it at $40 - $10 coupon (OM takes Staples coupons). There is a $15 rebate for it at OM too. So your final price is $15 before tax.

i picked up 3 sticks of the kbyte from staples...$66 AR and tax...
all work great

the thing is, i could have gotten it for half that price at officemax...
all week long since the ads have been out, until i got them in the paper, the ad said $70 - $15 mfr -$10 instant - $15 OM rebate...then i get the ad in the paper and i dont bother to check it until after i bought the ram (at 2 different staples i might note)...they changed it last minute to $80 - $15 mfr - $30 instant -$15 OM rebate to come out to $20 before tax...i wasnt gonna go thru the trouble of returning all the ram...cause one can use a competitors coupon at officemax, thus the $10 off $40 would have worked at officemax and thus one could get a stick of the kbyte ram from officemax for $10 AR (without tax)...
