Hey, I just picked one of these up for my Mac Mini. Can't pass this deal up. $55 for a 1 gig stick of PC 2700, then theres a $5 mail in rebate to seal the deal!

Linky

Also in-store, so check if they are in stock!

Guy

This is even better if you PM to Circuit City and then send in the CC $30.00 MIR.

Total for me was $21 and change after MIR.

CIrcuit City

Check out Chubby Wallet for more info

I'd imagine CAS 2.5 or CAS 3, but for a GIGABYTE of RAM, this is the HOTTEST deal of the year after PM! 😀

Its CAS 2.5 according to my box.

I'm nearly thinking bout picking up another at CC, then return that one to best buy.. hmmm

I could i could....

What's the deal with ordering online (to insure I get it), picking it up at a CC store and trying to pricematch then? Will it work at all?

Thanks, this deal is on fire!

Scorching price, but it was out of stock everywhere in my area locally. I had to purchase off the website, and even then it's backordered with an ETA of 5-7 days. Even so, worth the wait. I jumped for three. Thanks OP!

Thanks, OP. I just ordered 2 for pickup last night. I got a confirmation email this morning. I also noticed that it's now out of stock in all my local stores so I got it just in time. 🙂

I just picked up a stick at my local CC. They *almost* gave me problems for doing the price match + rebate, but ultimately I won out.

Ended up getting the 1 GB stick for $50.81. Not bad...$20.81 for a 1 GB stick of RAM!

How did you pricematch it? Did BB have it in stock in your area?

BB is out of stock, so I printed out a copy of the link above and took it into Circuit City. Fortunately, they still had a stick on the shelf, so I grabbed it and took it up front. The checkout lady had to call her manager to verify, and at first, they weren't going to give me the rebate. I told them that I didn't need their forms to get the rebate as I could pull it off of their website. However, it didn't matter as the manager simply let her print out the forms for me.

I thought about getting another stick online, but I'll just run 2 GB in my server with 3 sticks (1 GB, 2x 512).

I would have tried circuit city, but everytime I try to pricematch when an item is out of stock, the store in question always finds out and never lets me.

same here, and they also won't price match if the item has a rebate. i figured, $50 for 1gb is already a great deal. hopefully they ship the ram...

that is because ebayer's central (AKA bigwallet) has gotten ahold of this deal + once again gone through this deal like a watermelon through a sausage grinder and alerted bestbuy?
better get on this deal today (in store), there most likely won't be any (at this price) tomorrow...

Yeah, same here. Even after ground shipping, my sticks came out to $62 a single stick gig for Kingston memory. You can't beat that! (unless you went to circuit city) 😛

I've tried searching the web and I cannot find out what company AL stands for. It's always interesting encountering new companies. I bought some PNY memory that had BRAVO chips and they turned out to be pretty good. I'm just curious who AL is.

anyone try running this in dual channel yet? any luck?

theres a sticker on my box stating :

"1GB 333MHz DDR DESKTOP SYSTEMS 255MHz Compatible, Not Dual-Channel Compatible"

what exactly is dual channel... isn't it the mobo ability to run different Mhz ram?

Dual channel is like having two highways at the same time so you can move more cars around per unit of time. Single channel is like having only one highway.

Kingston puts that notice on boxes because they use chips from different companies (Infineon, AL, Nanya, etc) and they cannot guarantee that different sticks will work together nicely.

However, if you buy two sticks and they happened to have the exact same type of chips with the same timings then you should be able to use them in dual channel mode with no problems.

I once bought 3 boxes of Kingston memory that all used the same Infineon chips and I have them working in dual channel mode in my nForce2 based system with no problems.

Both my sticks use AL chips with the same markings so I expect to be able to use them in dual channel mode with no problems.

Thanks again to the OP for the best deal on memory I've ever gotten!

i went to CC to price match and they told me that BB removed the price so they cant PM it. i called up the BB that i bought the ram from and they said the price was 54.99. talked to another manager at CC who called my local BB and he said that BB had a price mistake and the stores are honoring the price but its off of the website, and since its a price mistake CC cant PM it.
is it really a price mistake? or is it that CC just didnt want to do the PM?
