I listened to one before, just to check it out. Its OK for a 49$ sub but you would be alot better off finding a "good" 10" one for ~200$ I Like My Yamaha YST-SW320 10" I got a few years ago, VERY nice sub for movies and plays Music resonably well and I've seen them under 150$ occationally.

I ordered this one for my cheap home stereo system. When I replaced my receiver last year, I found my old sub used speaker wire as inputs instead of a sub cable, and my new receiver only used the sub cable. This is perfect as a cheap replacement for my non-audio-discriminating family. :-D
