Ripped from fatwallet
Kudos to homersimpson (wonder if it's the same one who's an anandtecher?)

This week's Circuit City ad has a D-Link DSB-C100 USB Web Cam on sale for $29.99 - $20 mail in rebate = $9.99

There's something wrong when a Kodak disposable FILM camera costs $12 and a web cam is only $10.

Here's the manufacturer's specs which includes a picture of the product, and lists features.

Staples.com sells the D-Link DSB-C100 for 95.99

According to PriceGrabber.com Buy.com sells this for $50.11, Computers4Sure sells it for $53.99

The rebate form comes with the USB web cam (it printed out along with my cc receipt).

cc = Circuit City
b&m = brick & mortar

I believe you can also buy this web cam online from circuitcity.com however you pay shipping.

Circuit City ad is dated between September 3-9, 2000. They also have an Intel PC Camera USB for $39.99 after $30 mail in rebate and $10 instant rebate. It's a lot better camera but costs 4x.

UPDATE: Since this is the "clear" version of the web cam it supposedly does have drivers for Windows98 and 2000.

Braxus - Yep it sure is nice that this $10 Web Cam has both USB and Windows2000 drivers.

prodigy69 - Actually homersimpson over at fatwallet deserves the thanks but I'll graciously accept in his absence.

Gunslinger - True but it takes decent quality pictures, you can spy on your roomates/co-workers and best of all it's only $10.

itizlala,

If it is truely the dark bezel camera then it does support Win 2k and that isnt too bad of a deal (depending on shipping) If they mislabeled it (meaning it's really the beige bezel) then it doesnt support Win 2k and is basically useless to me, and probably a few others.

Thanks

G

Not to get too technical but that QuickCam Pro is actually 3 times the resolution! The D-Link is 352X288=101376 pixels where the Quickcam is 640X480=307200 pixels.

Gunslinger - Yes it truely is the dark bezel/purple clear case web cam, I should know since I bought nine of them.

Like I said this isn't the best web cam in the world, but it's USB, has Win98/2000 support and is only $10.
