Mine came with a dual-link cable. And you can find them for less than $120 :D

That said, yes, you do need dual-link. The native resolution on the 3007 is 2560x1600.

And believe me, it is spectacular. Just make sure you've got the ponies to drive it.

?
does that mean the display is too big for normal resolutions, and stitches together two desktops on one display????

wait... what? no....?

Single link DVI can't output the native res of this thing. Dual link DVI is a cable / output type that not all cards / cables support.

You need to have a compatable videocard and you need to use a dual link DVI cable (I would imagine one comes with the monitor ;) )

you would need a 7950gx2

Yeah and the pope is jewish. There are a lot of cheaper dual link cards that will power this.
Also get some cables cheap from Monoprice.com. Excellent cables. very sexy prices

Powering in 2D is one thing, powering in 3D at its native resolution is another thing. That being said though, you don't NEED a 7950GX2 to power this display.

I couldn't find one, but the Sony SRX-R110 is 4096 x 2160 native.

MSRP (USD) : $ 98,550

Hey, ummm, does Sony have a $98,000 coupon I can use?

Plus, just tax alone or $8130.7 (8.25%) I could buy 6 of these monitors and still have some change left.:D

Hey, come to think of it...who has the balls to rip this thing open and rig it up to a fresnel lens and some light source...imagine, your own 2560x1600 projector for the price of a mid-range 720p projector! And all you have to do is worry that you're about to destroy your new $1400+ monitor (assuming you pay taxes).

Heh

Hmm...I was tempted to get the coupon and have the monitor shipped to my brother in New Hampshire to avoid Sales Tax (since NH doesn't have any), but I just looked on ebay and noticed that a seller was selling for $1350 shipped...from Dell...

Which means $1350 isn't the best price...unless the seller is just in it to lose money lol.

Actual auctions seem to be ending even lower so I'm thinking maybe there's something going on with the prices of these units.

I ordered the 3000WFP on the 20th... it still hasn't shipped. Anyone else having a similar problem? I wonder if Dell oversold the 30"?

I just got the 2407 today and I can't imagine anything bigger. My eyes are getting a workout from looking left to right, etc...

I would love to get the 30" but the 2407 is also great (especially with the 20% coupon at ebay) and another 4% with PDA --$643 shipped for me.

Hey thanks for the reply...

My wife just called me from home and turns out the monitor was just delivered...strange though because my Dell account had never been updated past the "order confirmed" stage. Looks like they have people in the warehouse not updating their purchase and order system...
