HOSTS, .Pac files, Proxomitron, and Firefox

I just read about blocking ads with a PAC file in PCMag. I'm presently using Firefox, the Proxomitron, a HOSTS file and now I would like to use a PAC file. I downloaded and installed Blackhole Proxy. But what are my port numbers? The article said to use port 80 if using it with a HOSTS file. But since the Proxomitron is using port 8080 should I plug in that port? And what would be my PAC server port? Do I need to tell Firefox where my PAC file is? In IE I had to put in "file://c:/no-ads.pac" under "use automatic configuration script"(connections LAN settings).

Should I ditch the Proxomitron and start over? I use someone's default filter since I have no idea how to program.

TIA
