hosting video and pics

I'd like to be able to share small videos and pictures with freinds. I would like to have about a gig available for storage. I'm fairly ignorant on this. I can ftp videos and pics to my isp's server and link to them, but I'm only allowed 10 meg. Can anyone reccomend a good (and cheap) service for doing this? TIA
