Workstation/Game card graphics required?

Using advanced drawing techniques and powerful 3D engine for hardcore acceleration and maximum, glitchless framerates for visuals.

Need suggestions. Used an FX 5500 256mb, and doesn't seem to cut it. We all know that an x800 or 6800 would be a better choice, but what about workstation graphics cards?

output device manager,
I need internal hardware for extreme graphics processing to put up the best visuals which are very graphics intense and mathematically complicated

workstation stuff isn't really more powerful, it is just little bit different and uses special drivers. Just get a good mainstream card and you will be fine. The 5500 is a pooch 😉

What software? What API (OpenGL or Direct3D)? What resolution? What price range? What slot (AGP or PCI-Express)?

Pretty much anything is better than an FX 5500.

wow, you really need a 500 dollar card for this situation, how is it being displayed, if its on a projecter, what type of resolution are you planning on running, a 6600gt/x800/6800vanilla should be more than enough, even a 9800pro probably

HDTV capabilities - very large display for multiple visual outputes, but external devices will be utilized to display multiple outputs. The software will be preprogrammed to utilize very large resolutions with very harshly rendered textures, nothing with simple mpeg playback or anything.
