An addon domain points to a folder within your account.

i.e. mysite2.com can point to mysite1.com/folder

subdomain is within the current domain

i.e. subdomain.mysite1.com

Thanks. I kinda understand but what would the point be in an addon domain? I mean, you say it points to another site/folder? Like redirecting?????
I was thinking it was basically like getting an extra domain. Like I could have mysite.com and myothersite.com. Totally seperate sites.

I honestly don't see a point in it unless you?re a large company. Let?s use Nike for an example...

Nike has their "Shox" line of shoes right so let?s say that within the site somewhere there is a link to that specific line like http://www.nike.com/blah/blahblah/nikeshox

Now rather then create a new domain and develop an entire new site for the Shox line they can register nikeshox.com and point it to that folder.

Does that help?

And in your case you would just have to manage the 2nd domain through your registrar/hosting provider which is easy.
