I'd like to setup a game of D2 between me and few friends of mine but we all have routers making TCP/IP games impossible. Open bnet also fails for I'm guessing the same reason. So my question is what has to be done in order to set something like this up?
I'd also like to know how to do this. I have a D-Link 704P that I'm finally getting to work almost right. I asked in the forums about a problem with my lan and didn't get any answers. It seemed like most of the guys were getting more pleasure out of ripping a guy about a rig he just completed(and did a decent job on) than helping with questions.
You need to open the appropriate ports up. The ports vary with the game. Easiest way is just set the computer to DMZ (most routers can do this). Just make sure to switch it back off when you're done gaming, as this essentially exposes your computer fully to the world.
Heres a good link detailing a number of important ports. To get Battle.net working do a search on Google for battle net ports and you'll find the required ports.
