Recently my hosting with a resller of dixiesys is about to end (as reseller end his relationship with dixiesys). Have been using them for 6 months.

I am looking for new host. My budget is $10-20 / year

I just need it for personal email and webpage, nothing fancy. webmail support is a must.

I search about the AT fourms for web host

I am down to

1. e-rice.net - 150MB & 3GB/month, $9.99 per year
2. Ripplehost - 100MB & 1GB/month, $4.99 1st year, 9.99 after
3. 8-95.com - 50 Mb & 1GB / month, $16.9 per year

My only concern is that E-rice.net has NO ASP/JSP/CGI/Perl/SSH/Telnet .. how important is those feature ?

Comment, advice ?

I realize that many of u has been burnt by Cyberwing, so I better choose a host carefully.

Thanks in advance

8-95.com is a Dixiesys reseller
Ripplehost is good but don't expect a lick of support, so I hear
If you want to pay ~ $13.50 a month I would go with Dathorn.

ripple host has worked out for me great. Only $5/yr when I signed up. I only really use it for hosting my FS/T pics and eMail so I'm not a power user :) Also, there is definately no support :p

100MB and 1GB/month

PS. Talk to RossMan... he can point you in the right direction. Heck, I think even he is hosting now or something like that.

I don't think you can get a dathorn acct right now...short of donating a server to them.

They can all be found at WebHostingTalk.com and in my Hot Deals thread.
Here are my recommendations in order from cheapest to most expensive:
1) RippleHost.com and yes the $4.99 plan is still available.
2) AddAction.net you pay $9.95 setup fee, FREE 6 months of webhosting with no obligation. If you choose to keep your account it's just $6.95/mo or $41.70/6 months. My forums http://forums.gottadeal.com/ are hosted by AddAction.net and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Yesterday I submitted a trouble ticket and within the same hour I had a response waiting for me. I could go on and on but bang for your buck AddAction.net cannot be beat.
If you decide to keep the account for 1 year your average cost is $4.30/mo, pretty damn cheap if you ask me.

3) dathorn.com the best value is their "business" hosting plan which gives you 3.75GB webspace and 45GB/mo bandwidth. Search for dathorn on WHT and you'll find nothing but praise. I recently convinced our own Kenji4861 to switch from his current webhosting provider to dathorn.com [AT thread), you can test the speeds by visiting his Hot Deals website Spoofee.com
4) WHT regulars know who Aussie Bob is and also know that HTTPme.COM is the best of the best. It isn't cheap but their uptime and tech support are phenomenal.
If you have any questions regarding any of these webhosting companies please don't hesitate to post them here, PM, or e-mail me at rossman@gottadeal.com

This should tide you over for a little bit.

RossMAN would agree with yoda291, go with AddAction.net you will not be disappointed.

Otherwise go with RippleHost.com or if you're brave go here but remember most of the webhosts are 13 year old high school students and will be "out of business" in 3 months.

You get what you pay for.
