Do I need to open any ports? Like what I had to do for Warcraft 3 server?

And is there anyway to host a no cdkey server? So more ppl can join.

"So more ppl can join" is not a great excuse to run an illegal server :disgust:

You'll need to open 27888(UDP) and 28910(TCP, UDP) as well as all the standard GameSpy ports if you want your server to show up on the list.

At least that's what I could gather from the internet. The FAQ is horribly incomplete.

Odd...
I clicked on multuplayer just once to set up a server and check out the maps. Had a full server in about 2 mins, no ports forwarded.

I've got counter strike ports forwarded to my CS server, but nothings forwarded to my gaming computer.

If you are on a regular cable or dsl connection you probably won't have enough upload bandwidth to run a fear server.
