He now says that the gunman was someone who worked there and shot his boss and an assistant. He then shot himself.

I live in Rockford also and was surprised about the mall. Rockford just seems to unimportant for anything like that to happen here.

Oddly enough I was waiting on the Green Line at Clinton and the freaking holiday train pulls up (decked out in lights, signs, and with a live santa and elves on a flatcar.

Damn, I took a 3:40 train on west line, but I arrived at the station at about 3:05, probably just as the guy was setting himself up. When I left there were already two choppers in the air, but I thought they were just watching traffic. Oh well...
