What happened to the whole hostage negotiator idea? Now it's just head over and shoot everyone?

If I ever get in a hostage situation I hope I get to at least make some giant banners demeaning the cops before they shoot me "Bad guy wants bus to airport, hostages want subs for lunch, don't let the cops shoot us, that's his job" 😛
 
its a fact that in america, you are 8 times more likely to be killed by a cop than by a terrorist. if you really care about public safety, you should support surveilance of cops, not terrorists
