Hospitality and Easterners

Just got back from my brother's wedding in Princeton, NJ. A majority of our family and friends were from the South, primarily Texas. Most of the bride's family was from up North particularly around the East coast. I noticed a huge lack of hospitality amongst the bride's family and friends. I don't really mean arrogance but it was rare for anyone to come up to me and introduce themselves even though I was the best man. This was experienced by almost everyone who came to visit. Thankfully I went out to mingle but we had to do all the introductions and be the first to say anything. Is this common amongst East to North Easterners?

to me, people everywhere are about the same

anecdotal stories like this are common, but i have found friendly and unfriendly people everywhere i have lived

i have lived in Washington, Florida, Idaho, New York, Georgia and Missouri (as an adult)

I think Bostonians are generally very rude, especially to people from other parts of the country. Definitely a huge touch of arrogance from most. I think it's because they're bitter most other parts of the country have more attractive women ;)

(I'm from Boston, btw)

I guess you could say im from the east. WV to be exact, and most of the people here are very nice, however go to PA and futher north and people get progressively less nice

We just don't trust people from the south. It's the whole 'Deliverance' thing.
