Hosed my WMP 6.4, how can I reinstall?

It's my first time with XP and I really hate what M$ has done with the media player. I hate all versions after 6.4, with each successive version getting worse. I suppose I could live with 7 ya know, but 8... and I can't even fathom how sh*tty 9 must be. 🙂 😀

Anyway I was using this program called XP Lite (allows you to add/remove like all of the windows components), and at the time I wanted to use 6.4 instead of the XP default 8, so I seen entries in XP Lite allowing the removal of 6.4, WMP 8, etc... so I JUST deselected the 8. In hindsight I don't really give a damn if WMP 8 is on my sytem I just want to USE 6.4 for video playing and not 8. But after restarting and trying 6.4, it says DRMclien.dll is missing. So I use XP lite to remove 6.4, then after restart I use the program to install 6.4 (asks for XP cd) again, but after that restart now I try c:\program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe and nothing happens. Doesn't show up as a process eiher. So although DRMclien.dll is now there, the program doesn't work anyway. Is there a EXE manual setup file that I can use to install 6.4 or something??

Hmm, sorry I don't know the solution to your problem, but I have a suggestion. You should try out Media Player Classic, which is an open source media player based off of windows media player 6.4. Google for "media player classic". Think of it as an upgraded WMP 6.4.
