Well, I tried to upgrade the bios on my Fireport(symbios chip) card. All went well, but the new bios is junk, and now my card won't work. So when I boot my computer, it gets to scsi recognition part and stops. So I cant get my computer to boot with the card in it, which I need to have happen so I can re-flash the bios.

Is there anyway I can boot to windows, then slap the scsi card in, reboot to DOS, then scan the PCI bus, so the scsi card gets recognized? Then I could re-flash the bios.

Or any other ideas?

Thanks

Set your bios to scan the IDE channels before the SCSI card? Does it try to load the SCSI BIOS if the computer BIOS boots the IDE channels before the add in SCSI?

I don't see how to set my bios to do that. I have a Epox 8kta3, with Award bios.

Sounds like a good idea though!

What is your boot order? External adapter, c, a, cdrom? switch it to C,A,CDROM, external adapter.

Hopeful bump:cool:

I am not using a "external adapter" setting in bios, but a "scsi" setting to boot the adapter. I am currently booting to HDD0 and HDD1, but the scsi card is still scanned at bootup.
