Trying to find out how much hp is in a 1989 Nissan Maxima. If anyone knows or knows where i can find out, let me know.

78....it was a bad year.

ANyhow, in reality, it'll drive just like any 14 year old japanosedan. Not nearly as fast as a 96 GTi vr6 that is.

It has 160hp. (VG30DE --> 3L DOHC V6).

Try to find the older model ('87 I think) that is powered by an inline 6 and is RWD. Then drop in a Chevy 350 smallblock and watch the fun that will ensue! 🙂

Actually it's the VG30E engine, SOHC, not DOHC. The VG30DE was used on the 2nd gen 300zx, it was never used in the Maxima. The only 3rd gen maxima to use a DOHC was the VE30DE found in the 92-94 SE models (190hp).

Yeppers - that said, I used to own a ruby pearl '89 maxima GXE - it was a great car 🙂 They only thing I hated baout it was the maroon interior, so ripped out EVERYTHING but the parking brake (I couldn't figure out how to remove the handle easily) and replaced it with a clean tan interior 🙂 I love that car 😀

Depends....while it theoretically could fit into more parking spaces, the boxiness of my vr6 is an advantage because of easy judgment of the extremities of the vehicle. Also, the only people familiar enough with miatas to judge the extremities as well as my gti are women, who can't park anyways. Moot point.
