Horror movie marathon..what movies do we need?

xXx

Oh, and Signs scared the begeezus out of me. If you haven't seen it, get it. Not a horror movie, but scary none the less. 🙂

Chucky. I've yet to meet anyone who wasn't terrified of Chucky as a little kid.

Yeah, the first Chucky was good.

Also, Stephen King's "It" is one scary flick. I remember watching it when I was like 12 years old and goddamn, it left permanent scars on me, I literally couldn't sleep for few nights 🙂

I miss being scared that much 🙁

Another good oldie is John Carpenter's "The Thing".

* The Shining
* The Ring (for the sub-title challenged)
* Nosferatu (sorry... sub-titles)
* Dracula (Bela & friends 1931)
* The Mummy (Boris & friends 1932)
* Cat People (B&W 1942)
* The Exorcist
* The Uninvited (B&W 1944)
* The Thing From Another World (B&W 1951)

Wanna be scared?
THe Shining
Halloween 2
The omen
The Exorcist

Want fun?
Scream
Army of Darkness

The Innocents
Audry Rose
The Changeling
The legend of Hell House
The Haunting
And no serious horror marathon is complete without watching The Exorcist

Original Ringu trilogy Kairo (aka Pulse) Session 9 House of 1000 Corpses Dog Soldiers

What is so scary about Session 9?

Well to be honest, there's nothing scary about any movie... last time I was scared by a movie was when I was a kid.

But Session 9 was definetly a positive suprise. Nicely written & shot portrayal of one man losing his sanity. Psychological horror, my favorite 🙂

Yeah, it's hard to find a really scary movie anymore. Usually it's just something jumping out at you & you get startled for a second.

John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness always gives me the creeps.
Rosemary's Baby hasn't been mentioned.
The Dead of Night, i think was the name, an old B&W movie was pretty good too.

Blair witch (though someone else mentioned it's only scary the first time - that's true).
The Exorcist
the hills have eyes
the firstr nightmare on elm street
psycho
signs
the wickerman (i've never seen it but it's supposed to rock)

Yep.. and that has absolutely nothing to do with "being scared", something many "horror" writers & directors have yet to figure out. A cat jumping out of a closet IS NOT SCARY 🙂
